Can you tell age of Rem700 action by serial# ?

Hey All,

I have an old Remington 700 BDL with an "A" serial number. Is there some way to reasonably set the age of an Rem 700 action based on the serial number?

Buy "THE 700 BOOK", it has the data you seek.

You can give Remington a call and they will tell you. If it has the original barrel on it, they stamp a date code on the barrel, action will be the same year or maybe a year earlier, but close.
