BadBot, yes that's a centerfeed.

OK fellas, here's the latest. Jeff's just about ready to go on these but we haven't gotten a definite answer on the screw spacing being the ONLY difference yet. As he stated though, he'll do both spacings even if they have to be totally different. He's going to start a group buy thread for these soon, so have your cash ready as these will need to be prepaid up front so he doesn't get stuck with a bunch of DBM's for nothing. Again, we'll need the 308 based guns first, as the 223 mags will be out in late June/ early July and will be the holdup on those DBM's. If anybody wants to go ahead and prepay now, contact Jeff and he'll set you up on the "official list".

We will be needing a staggerfeed 308 with a decent stock (McMillan, HS Precision, Manners etc.) for the donor rifle to be sent to him. I have a couple of 223's lined up to send, but since the mags won't be out in time kinda put a kink in that plan. So, any of y'all got a rifle you're willing to send, let me or Jeff know and we can get it to him. The faster that happens the faster he can get them out of course. I'll touch base with him tommorrow to see if he wants a centerfeed 308 as well, it may help to have both rifles in hand to see if there's any difference other than the screw spacing. I'll see what he says on that and let y'all know the deal ASAP.

This will be out of my hands pretty quickly, so I'd like to express how much I appreciate the support & feedback on this deal, guys! We'll finally have another quality option on DBM systems for our Savages VERY soon!!!

4.275" accutrigger, 26" heavy barrel, centerfeed would this be acceptable to him and how long would he expect to have it?

I might consider getting a lam stock if he wants

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

I talked to accurate mag this morning and they will have .223 (aics) mags out in a couple of months as well. accurate mag stated that they are in the process but have pushed it back a couple of months. Due to being behind on production.

Just FYI there will be more mags out there at some point if CDI runs out. CDI does have good prices and seems to have enough in stock.

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

I have several that have paid, but anyone that's on the list needs to contact me for prepayment.. I cant start on the project till everyone has stepped up.. Maybe another week or so, and we will be GTG.

Just for the record, I do not recommend Accurate mags. As you can see, they are already pushing back production dates.. they are unreliable and make a sub standard rip off of the original AI magazine. AI makes the best and it isn't much more than the cheap copy. But the best, buy AI parts.

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

If you're on the list, please step up with your payment guy ASAP guys -- I'm itching for my DBM!

I'll help by consolidating all of the payment info:

Bottom metal - $209 shipped
Bottom metal + 5 rd AI mag - $284 shipped
Bottom metal + 10 rd AI mag - $289 shipped
Inletting by CDI Precision - $60

To pay, call him at 941-961-3185 (Visa/MC) or discrete Paypal at '[email protected]'.

Post here when you've paid up so you can bask in the praise of your fellow Savage owners

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Paid for my 223 bottom metal today! Since the pricing is yet to be determined on the 223 mags you have the option to pay for the bottom metal (and inletting if you want Jeff to do it) and hold off on the mags until the price is definitely set on them. Thanks again for stepping up guys, this is gonna be a sweet addition for our Savage sticks!!!

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

I wonder what OAL the AI 223 mags will handle? Thinking of the longer bullets and maybe the improved 223.
A CDI for my Savage sounds really nice.

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

stoped by and droped off my savage 10 stagger feed to jeff today and talked about the bottom metal he also got the newer one in so he should be getting started on it soon

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Awesome jamesz71, thanks for doing that bro! Jeffersonv, from what I've been told, OAL is not going to be an issue at all on the 223 mags. Hopefully we'll get a chance to find out firsthand pretty soon.

CopperStang, thanks for getting in on this too!

jamesz71 do you have your DBM already? if you do that is record time we need pics.

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Are you able to do this for a Stevens 200 in .300 WinMag?

Considering going a build and this would be a definite mod at some time in the future?

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Spoke to Jeff the other day, he has some prototypes finished (nothing he wants pics out of though, sorry!) and he says it'll be a couple more weeks for the finished product to be ready. Patience guys it'll be well worth it!

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

What stock is Jeff using for a R&D model?
McM? HS? Savages' DBM stock?
Curious, since I have this BDM ordered from Jeff and received my Lefty A5 last week. Hopefully the inletting will go as easy as his Rem 700 BDM.

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Not sure which stock is on James' rifle. I have a McMillan M40a1/HTG that should be there this week for him to do the inletting on. Early on when we first talked about doing the DBM system, Jeff said it didn't really matter about the stock as long as it was a decent quality stock (I.E. no tupperware). Your A5 will not be a problem!

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Just spoke to Jeff and the DBM systems are coming along great! He will be along shortly to post a full update on the production and timeframe for us. Sounds like it's gonna be a sweet DBM system for us, and I can't wait to see the final product!

Thanks,
Gregg

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

Hi guys.. wow, its been a bizzy summer. Things are looking very nice. Final prototype will be made/installed this weekend. This will be the final part in production barring any minor changes. I have a partial working prototype in my rifle now, and it feeds and functions well. Wont be long now..:) thanks for everyone's patience and help in this project. I appreciate this very much. You can always call me if you have any needs or questions..:) thanks

Jeff

Re: CDI Precision Savage DBM feeler...

I hope you're running extras. Funding held me back from getting in the first go around. I'm wanting AI mags for my centerfeed. Any chance of the savage accepting AW mags?
