I've got a barreled action, registered SBR, chambered in .300 BO and was previously using an MDT chassis but could never get comfortable with it. I'd like to drop the action in an AI folder but can't find the dimensions for that chassis anywhere. Specifically, looking for length of chassis from the lug forward. I'm running a 8.5" barrel with about 3" QD brake for the can so I need to at least clear the break. I may end up re-barreling the rifle and bring it up to a 10" barrel is/as needed.

Any assistance from an AI chassis owner would be greatly appreciated or other recommendations for chassis with shorter forward lengths. Thanks!

Not sure about the folder, but my non folding AICS 1.5 is exactly 10" from the back of the recoil lug to the forend

Roger that. I'll call Mile High on Tues and have them pass a measurement on. I really like the AI AT folder as it let's me dump this thing into a pretty small package.

    That's a sweet little SBR.

Not an AICS chassis, but I've always like the way a KRG Whiskey 3 looks when set up with a short barrel. Their standard forend extends approx 9 1/4" in front of the recoil lug, so it may be a little long for your barrel. Still, they make a pretty compact package with a folder.

That thing is sick, really cool. If the AT doesn’t fit, another option could be to run an AX chassis, but take off the forend rail. If you put a RRS plate on it, you would have a dovetail rail for mounting a bipod on. You could also cut the forend rail to an appropriate length if you wanted.

That's pretty bada$$. Might be hard to improve on that.

Have you considered an XLR Evolution? The rail is of course too long, but it’s just a simple aluminum tube that’s clamped in by a cap... its not monolithic with the chassis body.

With a chop saw and a little bit of luck on the spacing of existing holes you may be able to trim to fit your needs. Plus side folder is really cheap.

As another option, it seems to me like you could find just about any type of aluminum or carbon fiber tubing that matches the OD of the XLR rail and make whatever floats your boat.
