So this is certainly not the best team we've had in the last 5 years since our run to the World Series final, hell we barely have a bullpen. But damn this team is so fun to watch. This group just doesn't give up. We were literally a strike away from being done in the post season against FSU. Down 2-0, 1-2 count with two outs, and two on, MacNamee goes yard with a 3-run bomb to end it. We come back and win the entire regional despite being in the losers bracket just like last year. Then game one of the Super we're up 7-2 only to throw it away in the fifth. Then we go up 9-8 in the 8th Vandy catches a break and ties it. Again with a runner on, MacNamee is down in the count 0-2 and he goes yard to end it. Unbelievable. This is why baseball is by far my favorite collegiate sport. One more and i'm booking tickets to Omaha.

I don’t wanna see Tenn Tech ha. If we get past vandy though I’m going. I missed out my senior year of college in 13. Was taking histology in summer school and didn’t go. Have regretted it since.

Baseball is a great game. No doubt. There can be so many moments of nothingness to instant exhilaration or despair. The highs, the lows, the feelings of helplessness, sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation of the last pitch, last at-bat, last play, last out or last run. There’s no clock & no time limits. Anything can happen. That’s why baseball is the greatest game ever played.

Raw talent plays a part, but most critical is a player’s mental aptitude or the game. You have to know what you’re going to do w/ the ball before it comes to you. Also, know where you are in the count, the game, situational play, etc. Don’t get me started or I’ll be here all night.

It's funny man i went to MSU, am an alumni, all that. Never cared about MSU sports that much, grew up a Tennessee fan. Probably considered banwagon but i started watching in 13 when they went to the finals. Tried to go to Omaha and didn't cause of summer school. My best friend went and i've regretted it ever since. From that moment on though it's been by far my favorite collegiate sport. Nothing comes close.

This season has been the epitome of why i love baseball so much.

Yeah, I remember being home from school (sick day) in the 80s & watching Roger Clemens pitch in the CWS w/ the ‘Horns. I was just a kid & I’ve been hooked on college baseball ever since. I don’t really watch too many MLB games anymore. There’s too much whining, BS, etc. I also dropped my DirecTV package over their support of the NFL so that doesn’t help w/ picking up games either.

I also coach two hardball teams, play softball & work 50+ hrs a week. There’s barely time to get to the range let alone watch a ballgame. I’ve gone to the range once in the last two months because all my time is eaten up w/ practices, games & baseball meetings.

Beav fan here and can't wait for this weekend to get the action started. Of course I'm biased, but their team this year is pretty damned talented. Scares me a little they open up against the Tar Heels, who they knocked off both years back when they won back to back titles in '06 and '07. Hope it isn't payback time.

I missed it... a la Billy Buckner? FWIW, I never held that error against the guy. He was a hell of a ball player who had a hell of a season & the only perfect guy I know of was a carpenter.
And he was crucified. Buckner endured a ton of hatred and animosity after that error and handled it well. Saw a few interviews with him after the Red Sox won the Series. He is a class act. It coulda been worse, he could be Bartman! What the Cub fans did to him is criminal.

I live near Gainesville, FL (used to live in the city), and I enjoy following UF baseball (especially last year's run). I usually go to a handful of games a season. It's a good way to get my baseball fix, as I don't really have an outlet to play anymore. Tournament time is especially fun, as you guys have noted. I'm still sour over the CWS moving out of Rosenblatt ;)

Yup Henderson screwed us game one. The beavers are loaded. He kept Billingsley in there letting him get shelled. Didn’t even pitch JP France the entire college World Series. Just more proof he didn’t deserve the hire

    who did they hire?

Dunno yet. I know most of the fans who seriously keep up with baseball don’t want him. Nothing personal he’s just not the face of the program for the next 5+ years. I’d rather gautreau get it. Rumors are Schloss was in Omaha and still in the mix. Sarlos didn’t take the rice job and is staying at TCU which doesn’t make sense to me less he is gonna be called up.

Well Arkansas just dug their own grave. Jesus a fly ball that should've been caught, end game. No way they win game three in my eyes. They haven't really played well in this championship series. They've played error free but they haven't hit hardly at all.
