Ive used Lee Collet Dies to neck size brass for reloading for years however they don’t make a “stock” die for many calibers and ordering a custom die is $75 so before I order one I’d like to know if there are any other collet dies out there other than Lee. Lee dies just Work but they aren’t a rugged die and if I’m going to spend that much on a custom die I’d like to know of other options. I know Innovative Tech make one but it’s for belted magnums. Thanks.

I'm not sure if Lee has a still has a patent on the design or not. As far as durability goes, I have found that the top of the fingers definitely need lube, or the die will get ruined/galled. Every 100 sizings, I take a drop of RCBS case lube gel and spread it over the 4 collet fingers and inside the receiver cup.

The die body & nut is $85, collets are $25, and pins are $10 each. Collets work on a range of pin sizes but generally you will need a different collet for each caliber that you are working with.

You can also use any size pin gauge like the ones off of amazon for three bucks to fiddle around with different tension.

I would much rather spend $35 on a Forster FL sizing die to use with the expander removed and $25 on a 21st Centruy mandrel to set .002 neck tension. But thats just me...Never liked the Lee Collet die.
