I run a JP AR 15 and am getting into 3 gun with it and am wondering what would be a good option for a brake. It has the JP tactical comp on it now work preforms very well as far as recoil is concerned but it is so freaking loud..... When I train with it people don't like to shoot with me. I would like something that isn't as loud. I would prefer a device that controls recoil and sound well and not as worried about the flash. Thoughts?

The best brakes push most of the pressure and sound out the sides so either you deal with that or have a lesser brake.

It doesn't bother me and I've never had anyone wearing ear pro complain about it so I'm keeping mine.

Suppressor is the other better option if it's legal where you live.

^This...

However, I used the Rainier Arms XTC Comp on a previous 3-gun rifle and I was very pleased. As far as noise levels go, definitely quieter than a Noveske Pig; and similar to an AAC Brakeout. I never had any reason to meter it, but I also never heard any complaints from neighboring shooters. I was very happy with the XTC overall.
