A buddy of mine that is deployed over in Afghanistan made subtle hints that he'd appreciate some stateside Copenhagen. Before I hit the local shops & post office, can anyone suggest an online source that would ship direct to an APO? Worst case, I'll grab some here and vacuum seal a roll for shipping.

All I can think is tobacco is a controlled substance like alcohol.

Re: Copenhagen

That's weird. I have went to a post office with the box open and clearly marked where it was headed. After the post master inspected it he gladly taped it up and sent it on to Astan. Matter of fact I sent cleaning kits, cope, and packets of kool aid over not to long ago and he never said anything about the tobacco.

PACT Act (S.1147):

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The law, which takes effect in 90 days, makes tobacco products nonmailable matter, meaning that the U.S. Postal Service cannot be used to deliver them. For some years, common carriers such as UPS and FedEx have refused to handle tobacco products because of legal concerns. The PACT Act also strengthens penalties for illegal sales and allows state attorneys general to enforce the law.

Re: Copenhagen

I'm being told that sending smokeless tobacco to an APO is an exemption to PACT, but the folks at the counter might not be up to speed, so you're on your own depending on who waits on you.

I won't be able to order online for him, but I should be able to ship him a supply bought locally.

KYS - did they give you any grief about the amount? 10 ounces or less?

Re: Copenhagen

Never had a problem here, I've shipped it to Iraq, A-stan and Africa. Just tell 'em it's "canned goods". Besides, it's one of the most valued items you can send to the troops, other than boxing up their girlfriends and sending them in country.

Worm medicine.

Re: Copenhagen

Just label the contents creatively other than Copenhagen or tobacco on the customs label. Some less than honorable people tend to work in the military postal system.
Your care package might not make it to your friend if your contents label looks attractive.

Overseas Copenhagen in the plastic tins is disgusting. I feel you buddy's pain.
