So my cousin from OK tells me he knows a gentlemen that lives on some acreage and has a coyote problem ever so often. Tell me if you think this would work........I am not sure I have ever heard of Coyotes going crazy for Pizza
1)Go to conveneint store or Pizza Hut and get the leftovers right before they close at night
2)Make sure and get plenty of garlic dipping sauce for the Pizza
3)Throw Pizza and Garlic sauce in 5 gallon bucket and stir
4)Hang 5 gallon bucket on nail driven into side of tree high enough that coyotes cant quite get to it
5)Hang a flourescent light in tree above bucket
6)Go back and set up prone on the roof of your house
7)Wait for the Pizza and garlic to make the coyotes go apeshit jumping after the bucket.
8)Start blasting with scope and your choice of rifle

Your thoughts? Anyone else ever heard of Coyotes going crazy for Pizza and Garlic? Supposedly it pullls em in from all over the place, especially if there is a breeze.

Re: Coyote Tactics

Never heard of Pizza as dog bait, maybe a hog attactor. Get yourself a remote control predator call, call them in with likely greater success.

Re: Coyote Tactics

I haven't ever done the pizza thing, but a chumcicle did well.

Take your 5 gallon bucket to the local butcher, ask him to fill it with the scrap that would normaly be throw out. Top the bucket off with water, and let it freeze (preferably outside when it's colder than a witch's tit.

Take the frozen bucket out to your hunting area and dump your coyote treat out on the ground. Being a heavy solid block they won't drag it far, and as it melts it exposes more bait. If it's good and cold out it can last a couple months.

Re: Coyote Tactics

how about a mod to your plan- coyote go for deer beaver pig or calf- hunting season coming on- deer moving -

legally get road kill or farmer dead pig or calf make small pile in middle of thick field (use stake and wire to hold bait in place) use same trail keep it rebaited about every 2 day if you use 150 # plus bait

after about a week set up your long range ambush be in position 1 hour before daylight you should have target before 9 same for right at dusk -

when they go nocturnalv( and they will after a few whackings) set some snares in the trails the have been using -go for 10" loop 8" off ground and the next morning you will whack more with your 22 pistol
