Bought this scope for a project gun a month ago, got her finished yesterday and installed the scope.

It's not visible when viewing through the scope above 4x or so (it's a 3.5-10) which my be why I didn't notice it when I took it out of the box for a quick look when I got it. It "rotates" out of the field of view when you crank up the magnification.

Not going to name the mfg., held in good regard here (that's why I bought it) and I'm sure they'll repair or replace. Just wondering if it's a cracked lens, or maybe something else?

    Just wanted to update...
Mostly all we read online are negative gripes and bitchin' over this or that company's terrible customer service.

I feel an obligation to report the positives, just as we all do the negative...

The scope is a Vortex. I boxed it up and sent it to them (very easy process- no RMA required- just print out their online form, complete it, and enclose it with the scope). They even offered to send me a prepaid label for shipping, but in the interest of time I told them thanks, but I'll just go ahead and ship Priority at my expense.

Exactly one week from the day I shipped it, a replacement scope arrived at my door (I know it was a new scope, instead of my repaired one, because mine had a small chip in the paint on the lower side).

That means, allowing for shipping times, that their turnaround was a day or two, at the most.

It just can't get any better than that. My impression of the quality of this scope (my first Vortex), combined with this level of customer service, means they now have a lifetime customer.

    Thumbs up for Vortex
