I'm in the market for a lightweight shorter suppressor for my 338 LR hunting rifle.
The Crux Ark 338 is just about perfect size and weight wise, my question is are they good for a precision rifle?
I'm not seeing much for reviews on the Crux suppressors in general..
Are they solid?

i wanted the axe in a 6.5 from crux but couldn't justify the purchase based on a few things:

1. past history of the company
2. at the time no real world data to support their claims
3. a general distrust of the owner/spokesperson in the videos. just seemed untrustworthy

I'll sacrifice weight and length on a suppressor for good customer service. There is no better 338 suppressor out there other than TBAC.

Most 338 cans are geared for 338 LM / NM or similar. Shorter and lighter isn't a great mix for suppressing 90+ gr of powder.

Not all that many 338 options out there. I'm not aware of any shorter (under 9"), lighter 338 cans besides the Crux, mainly due to how majority of the 338 cans will be used on a LM or NM, possibly larger powder capacity cartridge.
Griffin Armament does a lightweight 338 can, 7075 body, that is light but still over 9" long. I'm not sold on a 7075 body personally.
Sig has a 338 but 9.5" long.
AAC, SAS, SiCo, SF, Liberty and I'm sure a host of other smaller mfg'ers make 338 cans so you have options.

There is a reason for not many short, light 338 cans.
There are not many options for a sub 9", 338 can. If the Crux Ark 338 fits your criteria, or the Crux Saxon9, then get one and report back on performance, durability, suppresson, etc.

TBAC is dang hard to match, much less beat, for performance, quality of their suppressors, customer service and employees.

I have a Crux Archangel that I still need to go through the paper work to get (long story not involving Crux, but my residency status and getting called back to work in Canada). But it's been in the works for a long time. I purchased a Crux Archangel because of the following reasons:

1. Being in Texas, there was a few people around me that were really happy with their Crux cans and vouched for them
2. Specs were pretty good
3. I was able to get a demo can with less then 100 rounds shot through it for $800, which I thought was pretty reasonable for a titanium can with the specs it has

Now that I have my green card and going to be establishing residence again in the US, I will be going through the paperwork again to get it. From the reviews on here on SH, I'm a little hesitant, their reputation isn't stellar on here. With new management, supposedly things have gotten better? But I haven't really heard any consensus on the new management. I thought about trying to get a refund for my can, but looking around, I don't think I can get a titanium can with similar specs for anything less then double the price of what I paid for my demo Crux, so at this point I figure I may as well just go for it.

I hope I don't encounter any problems with my Crux can, and if so, I hope management takes care of it appropriately. Curious to hear if anyone has any recent experience with Crux.

I even emailed Silencer Shop and notified them. Nothing. No response from anybody.

Curtis, the owner of Crux, if you are reading this get off your ass and send me my can back.

I'm running out of options.

I should call Crux and see if they even still have my suppressor that I've already paid $800 for. They said they would hold it for me no problem, but the person who said that is no longer at the company.

Crux makes a good can. Definitely not the quietest out there, but they are rated for really short barrels and are pretty light. Mine is a 338 can as well, and it works fine. The TBAC 338 is definitely quieter though...

Crux's design is awesome, I have two of their suppressors and they can take a beating.

Axe 6.5, I use on bolt guns 6.5 and under as well as all my ARs
Sax 9mm, I use on everything 9mm down to .30 ( Sig 320 and 300wsm)

I'm asking about the Crux, I want the good and the bad but I want REAL experience with them.

What you need is to learn how to do some basic research and reading. You have forums full of Crux owners cautioning you against buying their cans. You have tons of TBAC owners saying the opposite. The writing isn't on the all, IT IS THE WALL at this point. Jesus, just realize that Crux isn't a good company and shouldn't get your money, and that there are several better places to buy a good suppressor already.

If even 15% of the feedback on one can/company is negative, while on the other can/company 0% is negative, you have your conclusion right there. But with Crux it isn't 15%, more like 50%+.

Any other cans, yes, im about 20 stamps deep these days. ive never done a side by side. i shot one for a while on an SBR 300 BO, shooting supers and it was fine, but i never did any head to head comps. I will say i feel my TBAC gets my trust and more heavy duty volume and long range work, since its a CB attach. The two Crux ARK 30's are direct thread and i have them for the 300 BO and my AR-10.

I think the designs are good and the engineering is good, but i think Curtis got a little overwhelmed with production, paperwork, customer service etc. I know he had several people working for him that he went through them quickly in a few years. They either were completely unreliable or incompetent, but maybe im wrong. Its been several years since i stopped by his shop and basically at that time he was the only one working there. and i get that its hard to find good help. i got both those cans on group buys early on, so i dont have much into them. and they repaired one so its basically brand new.

i really wish them and everyone involved in their new ownership lots of luck. i think they have a great foundation of prpduct line but i think they have a long way to go to repair the customer service aspect and that reputation.

TBAC is king of the mountain, to be sure. but i think there is room in the market for many people.

I spoke with a credible person in the suppressor industry who's tested the Crux lineup and he told me to stay the hell away.
I'll take the advice...

The overwhelming majority of people posting here told you to look get a TBAC, and you ignore them. Clearly you want some sort of confirmation that Crux is the suppressor to get. So just buy it and shut the fuck up.

I was part of the Templar (CRUX) Groupbuy on here years back, and after blowing through 2 TAB suppressor covers I realized that under the TEMPLAR engraving, I had a nice crack in the can. LOVELY. I reached out back in August 2019 and Chris told me he would fix it, but they were moving and to call back in a few months. I have e-mailed them a few times, called many, left lots of voicemails and reached out to F-1 Firearms because I heard they were moving into their facility. I have had zero response and nobody can help me.
Does anyone know anyone that can help me? I have a $1,000 paperweight. Super frustrated.

So the "investors" whom have been listed as Directors per the State Comptroller for a couple years are throwing everything onto Curtis even though he has been removed for some time now?? With 1 being at the same office/building with Curtis for a long time....

Those same Directors cannot get F1 Firearms to take manufacturing, etc etc and that is Curtis fault too??

Those same Directors now desire to have someone license (aka pay them to do nothing) the "technology" in order for said independent company to take on all the headaches and shit attached with fixing their business?? They should be giving that "technology" away to any and all licensed suppressor mfgs in hopes that said mfgs could even fix 1 of their customers Crux issues!!!
