Ive seen the 16.5 inch version tacticool but just seen the 24 inch tacticool heavy barrel thats threaded. Not sure if these is a newer model that hasnt been out long and wana no how they shoot if any body has tried one. I no the 16.5 inch version been around a while. Thanks

Curious . . . what would be the advantages of long barrels (e.g. 24in) over 16-18 in barrels for .22LR cartridges?

In all the .22LR testing I've done, the MV's get slower as the barrel lengthens beyond 18 in. or so. Perhaps for some cartridges with published MV's just above sub-sonic (like those listed at 1200 fps), longer barrels fire them at a slower MV to keep them more accurate??? The only thing I can think of is that iron sights on a long barrel would tend give one a little more accuracy???

Yea id like to no the same. Like the anzhuts mp rifle its got like a 25.5 inch barrel. And ive seen they shoot awesome. Just figured id give the tacticool cz455 a try not sure if anybody has tried it in 24 inch

Longer barrel actually also helps in cutting down the minute movements you make.

It also ensures more ammo stays subsonic die to the longer barrel the bullet slows down before it leaves the end.

Longer barrels also reduce muzzle blast. I know my old Win52 with a 28" barrel and SK Std+ could be comfortably shot without hearing protection (nearly as quiet as a 20" with TBAC 22 takedown). Never tried it with a 24", though.
