Looking for opinions from users of these rifles in either left hand or right hand.

I have 2 Savage lefty's that I am going to be selling since they don't really satisfy what I want. The thumb hole is threaded but reach to trigger is long and its not as smooth as other 22lr's that I've handled. The other isnt threaded and more than half the value to get threaded.

I don't really have brand loyalty to any one manufacturer (other than my 2 Thunderbeast cans). All of my other guns are from different manufacturers. Have a t3x already but no Cz. I don't have a 700 footprint so suggesting one of the others for swapping purposes of parts doesn't apply to me.

Having read the 2 threads on the 457 and t1x, I've seen some extraction issues on the t1x which might now be getting fixed. Unsure if it's been fixed on the lefty versions or if it ever showed up. Haven't really seen anything bad on the 457.

The consensus that I have seen is that the Cz might have a better trigger. Yes the spring can be changed on the t1x but can't really change to a midas because of the safety being on the wrong side.

Comparing prices from eurooptic since neither is really in stock anywhere and would likely have to be specifically ordered.

Would have to send the Cz to @LongRifles Inc. to get threaded but that's easy. Already did that with my Savage. Would likely change out the stock for a bravo eventually but the Cz stock is prettier for sure.

I have the LH T1x .22LR but have never even handled a LH CZ .22LR.

My T1x likes RWS Rifle Target (a target is posted in the T1x thread) and my gunsmith just gave it back to me with a 1lb trigger. I have the Vortex Diamondback Tactical on the rifle to make it legal in base class and the 30MOA Area419 rail had to be trimmed at the rear to create enough space for the throw lever. i did get the straight grip for the rifle because I like that style better. The magazines are robust and I think that I could beat someone to death with them if I wanted to do so. So far, all of the LH T1x's that I have seen / heard of are V2's without the paperclip.

The Tikka will never replace my Vudoo but it wasn't acquired to do that. So far (500 rounds) it is a fun little gun to shoot and has made the Annie 1761's even more safe queens.

So far, I like the gun.

I’ve got a CZ457 Varmint (Left Hand) and a Trainer (also Left handed).

I had a CZ455 Right Handed in a McMillan M40A22 Stock. I only sold it because I didn’t like it being right handed and the awkward safety.

No regrets on the CZ 457’s. I’m in the process of ironing out all the options on a manners stock for the CZ457.

The bergara also seems like a solid option.

For what its worth I’ve not seen or handled a T1X in left hand and I’d been looking for some time. Europtic has one in 17 hmr but NO WHERE has had one in 22 lr. CZ 457’s are tough to come by too In left handed.

Mirroring the bolt cut out was all that was needed. I actually took it to a local guy that I bought my bench vise from. He has a machine shop and does some gun stuff. I asked if I could use one of his machines (work isn't too friendly to having gun parts on the premises. Aerospace engine defense subcontractor.) He did it for free. My next thought was use a foredom with a carbide burr to rough it out and finish with a round file.

Just finished reading @Kisssofdeath B14r thread and the B14r Should Be a Sticky thread. Adding that in has made it harder.

Went to the local Scheels yesterday to try to get hands on with all 3 since cabela's had none of them. Scheels had all 3 in rh, Cz pro varmint and others, t1x, and both versions of b14r. Handling the bolt on all 3 they didn't feel all that terribly different. Note the triggers were all blocked off so comparison of cycling the bolt with them all cocked isn't as useful. Putting some side pressure on the bolt causes it to not slide as easy but they all felt better than the Savage mark 2 heavy barrel that was there. None of them had tons of bolt jigglyness/ slop when the bolt is open. Too much feels weird.

The Bergara seems really heavy. How hard is it to add a arca long rail to the bottom? Comparing its threads to the t1x most people seemed to be changing out the trigger. Is it mostly a necessity for the Bergara? Also has 18" vs 20" barrel for the others.

Doing some msrp/ certain accessory comparisons yield some interesting results depending on where you stop adding parts. Doing msrp because it's left handed parts and gives easier comparisons across 3 different brands.

To get shoot able is the Cz trigger $157 better than the tikka trigger? Is the Bergara worth it vs the others?

I haven't really gotten into all of the more expensive ammo yet. Have most of a case of the Prime r shield headstamp Ruag manufactured 40gr subsonic ammo left. No idea how that compares to all of the others that I've read about. Mostly other than that I've shot cci of different flavors or federal automatch bulk back when it was common. Still want to be able to shoot the cheaper stuff if I want to.

Ive never really tried any of the fancy triggers. Never owned a 700 type at all. I've got my t3x as it is from factory. Only other fancy trigger I have is a timney 4ish lb skeletonized comp trigger in my ar.

I'm happy with my (lefty) 457 Pro Varmint. Looks like T1X has more chassis available since they can use a T3X inlet.

As far as triggers, I have a T3X, and my buddy has a T3X Super Varmint(factory 2-stage). I'd say both Tikkas are nicer than the CZ's but I haven't actually adjusted mine vs my T3X has the screw backed out all the way; if the Midas trigger is anywhere close to Super Varmint then I'd say it's worth it....but if I were to drop money I'd just get the B14R for more trigger options. I've spoken to KRG about converting the Midas to left hand using a factory LH safety; I was told it's possible but it's recommended to have a gunsmith handle it. With the stock CZ trigger I'm still able to group just over 1" @100yd using Wolf ammo(Lapua stamped). I'm pretty happy with how my 457 is set up(only thing I have on there is Area419 50MOA rail, Athlon Midas TAC, Harris bipod, and Bradley cheek rest) and so no real plans to try out a T1X or B14R. Mag chances, if necessary, seem way easier on the B14R though since it's basically a full-sized magazine.

I own the Tikka and love it. No complaints. I heard rumor of an aftermarket trigger for it after the first of the year. It’s shoots very well. One of the most accurate .22’s I have. It’s not a Vudoo but it’s not Vudoo money, either. My brother in law has a CZ and it shoots accurate as well. It is more ammo picky than mine.

Mtr isn't available left hand. Only the American and varmint.

Didn't I see that Tikka came out with a v2?
Posts 5364 and 5365 of t1x thread.

Anybody know if the v2 ejector parts are/will be available? Nothing showing @tikka website.
My only complaint with the T1x is the crappy ejection.

The ejector is part of the mag well but you can't just drop it in. The bolt on the v2 is narrower on the bottom, so would require machining to convert.

Nobody has lefty t1x's in stock so a back ordered one should be updated.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the gun, but for some reason the Tikka is just a tack driver with random lots of ammo. CZ is a bit more picky. I shoot local comps and my Tikka outshoots a lot of CZs, Vudoos, and Bergaras believe it or not. Maybe its just the shooter. I can shoot CCI std in the Tikka just as well as SK rounds.

In my opinion. I like the Tikka because it isn't ammo sensitive and its a great shooter out of the box and you can run it in base class stock. Mine is completely stock other than the vertical grip and beaver fore grip but I don't even consider it an "upgrade". But honestly I like it perfectly stock. I have a bravo for it but my sister and girlfriend like it in the factory stock so it'll be where its at.

One thing I noticed with the CZ's is that they aren't going to be out of the box comp ready. It shoots great, but later you would be gong down the road of all these upgrades to make it a really good shooter.

So not sure where you're planning to go but that's just a food for thought. In the end its where do you want to go because I started with the CZ, moved up to Tikka, moved up to Bergara (Shoot both the same amount, conflicted which I want to be my main), and now eyeing a Bergara.

Long story short, Tikka for out of the box all around shooter. CZ for custom build down the line.

Also I never had much issues with my T1x extracting. Mine is the version with the wire ejector. But there is a V2 out and I think that's what's available now as Its easy to find Tikkas now. They were scarce not so long ago.

For what its worth I would look around to see if a CZ457 Varmint is even an option on the table right now… It took me a while to find one.

Mags… I’ve bought 5 extra… 4 out of those 5 had issues with even loading to capacity, rattling when full and binding.

Aftermarket for left hand CZ 457 isn’t great. Manners will make a stock but it will have the right thumb shelf for a right hand shooter EVEN If the inlet it for a left hand shooter.

Tbf the left hand 457 just came out this year. I think XLR has been the most LH-friendly, mainly because they're actually modular in that they have a little plug for the side that's not being used. I actually considered a lefty T1X since my T3X chassis is already notched for it(KRG Bravo); but couldn't find any LH T1x's at the time. With the Bergara in left hand, there's at least a larger selection of chassis since it drops into a 700 inlet.

True but to me the XLR's are ugly. I'm sure they work great but I'm not a fan.

A sanding drum in a drill press does a great job making "cuts" like these.

If I were in his position still with Bergara in the running, I'd honestly still would choose the Tikka. For the same price I can throw on an Arken, trigger spring, and vertical grip (My literal setup minus the forend grip for show).

My Bergara shoots nice. It just shoots more expensive ammo. And on top of that out of the gate, everyone seems to want to upgrade the trigger(What im planning to do soon). So I guess thats what leads me to my conclusion of choosing the Tikka. Genuinely I think the Bergara is a comp rifle thatll do you well whatever you plan to do with it. But for the money and the accuracy, the tikka is hard to build. I think its the BEST starter rifle. And I say starter lightly because my Tikka doesnt "keep up" with the more expensive guns. It literally runs side by side and lately ive been outpacing.

Decided to look at the MDT sale since I was sorta considering the xrs as well but it was more expensive. With the sale it was the same as a Bravo. So I had to finally make the choice.

For a while before this thread I had decided to get a t1x. I've mentioned it here before. Then someone brought up the Cz457. So I read about it. That made it more complicated. So I started this thread. Then MarkCZ brought up the b14r. That made it more complicated.

Having seen alot of recommendations going for both, seeing factory options switching places in the 6x5 rankings, that makes it basically up to me. The non swept or 2 stage options on the Cz didn't help it out. The b14r weight, the higher initial cost of the b14r, the muzzle shoulder out of square problems on the thread of the carbons that I read about, and the feel of the stock knocked it out. Stock texture didn't feel right.

The xrs looking roughly the same as the bravo is good. Both the bravo and the xrs can readily accept an arca rail just bolting it on. The b14r would take more work. Going with the MDT xrs also let's me add a different companies product so I don't have 2 different tikkas in 2 krg chassis. Now I will have 2 tikkas in different chassis.

Long story short I'm going T1x in an MDT xrs fde color. Will have to do the bolt cut out. Might do the sander wheel in my drill press instead of the file to finish. Will be getting a swept handle from Sterk (@cannoncrossfire here).

Just ordered an FDE XRS Chassis from MDT for one of my CZ 457's.

That's what my all-original CZ 457 LRP does at 50m whith the economic SK Rifle match. I just lightened the trigger.
If you don't have to bench-rest at 50m, there's no point in spending money on a barrel or action. Maybe get better the ergonomics for PRS by changing the stock, but that's it....

I am in the same frame of mind, eyeing some local winter indoor 22LR shooting at 25 yards and perhaps getting into NRL22 during better weather.

I voted for "they're all great" but I've started buying parts for a T1X in advance of actually purchasing the rifle.
