Suppressors Dakota silencer varminter 4.0?

Cleaning is a breeze;

Just make a pvc tube to fit the suppressor. Pvc pipe to fit for length and dia. A flat bottomed end cap and a screw on end cap.

Put the suppressor in pvc muzzle down and full it full of CLR, the house hold cleaner for an hour or two and you shouldnt have much of a problem getting the end caps off or the baffles.
The CLR eats carbon like a maniac and it doesnt harm the suppressor.

Ive been doing this method on the v3 for years, and other ti and stainless cans. Dont do this for your aluminum cans though.

Forgive my ignorance but the CLR will not hurt the finish of the suppressor? Or the rubber o-rings?

I'd recommend cutting the CLR in half (50/50 mix with water) because straight CLR will discolor the finish if left in too long. The 50/50 mix is plenty strong to dissolve the carbon build up.

I havent had any problems with the o-rings at all. You can cut the solution if you want. I havent had any issues with it taking off my cerakote, unlike the ultrasonic cleaner.

Forgot to add, im not leaving the suppressor in solution for over night or extended periods of time. I also rinse with hot soapy water after im done cleaning, then wipe everything with fire clean.

Good to know about the ultrasonic cleaner. Will have to avoid using it. Just to be safe, I will try cutting the clr in half.

Do you apply anything to the baffles after cleaning and putting it together? I got it clean but noticed some of the finish on the outside of the can was warn off (small area). I think one of the baffles was touching the can while running the ultrasonic cleaner. Oh well, just gives it character.

You could use fireclean. I find it to be easier to clean the next time around.

I've always wanted a Varminter suppressor given the Mack Brothers reputation. This thread got me re-interested, so I went to the Silencer Central website to check out the latest offerings and liked what I saw. Enough so that I went to a gun show in Rapid City, SD today and paid for a Banish 30 (Varminter 4.0) suppressor. If this suppressor would've been around 10 years ago I probably wouldn't have the 4 other suppressors in my gun safe that I have now.
I agree, I have had my Banish30 for a few years worked well for me.
