Hey Guys,

I went out to do some shooting this morning and ran into some issues with my rifle. Rifle is a DDM5 V3.

I am currently running M118 and M80 thru it. I was running a Sandman L can on it. But it started to stove pipe horribly. I never really spent a lot of time with that can on that rifle tell today. In dealing with this issue I threw on my Rex can and the rifle seemed to operate fine. Do you think that there would be that much gas pressure difference between cans to make one setup run well vs another.

If not do you think an adjustable gas block would help, and if so which one have you guys been having luck with on the DDs.

Thanks In advance.

Just like @msgriff said, it has an adjustable gas block. It takes a iddy biddy tiny small thin, you get the idea, alen wrench to adjust it. You better switch it back and forth after every outing or that thing will freeze up and will easily strip. Why DD went with such a small allen wrench adjustment we will never know.

So I have searched hi and low on that gas block, I can’t find it. It’s the Key MO version and for some reason I did some research and this doesnt have it? I could be wrong

Makes sense. Do you have any recommendations for AGB’s?
Superlative arms won’t break the bank. Just remember to rotate an adjustable gasblock every now and again so it doesn’t carbon lock. If you will dial it in and never adjust it afterwards (only shoot suppressed), an Aero adjustable gasblock is half the cost. Remember that when you set it to cycle with your suppressor that it will not function unsurpassed just as it won’t function reliably now. I don’t have a suppressor but I have shot with my friends enough to know this is the case with the large frames.

Im just looking for a .750 gas block? It’s been a while since I have been in the AR game, I have my stable of BCMS and DDs that I shoot for training and range stuff and they just work. Those guns are kind of boreing to tinker with (I got in to Long range).

I just punch the pin out and bolt the new one in?

The DD gas blocks are staked if I remember correctly. Knock out the pin with punch, loosen the two set screws underneath and it should slide off. If the set screws won’t loosen, heat them with a lighter for 30 seconds or so as they may have red loctite on them.

That’s awesome. I was going to order the factory upgrade from DD but decided to try this one as I like the bleed off concept vs restricting flow. So I was hoping it came with the hex wrench as your right it takes a long one. Lol. I just ordered one on Amazon. Will be here tomorrow.

Thanks for posting back with your results.

Ok. Just got mine installed and used the spaghetti method for gas block alignment as there’s not a pre-drilled set screw position on my barrel. That technique seems to work well though and will take it to the range tomorrow for testing. Keeping my fingers crossed and will post back my results.

So took her out to the range today and the good news is that on full bleed out (screw turned full out) the gun doesn’t jam now. The disappointing part is that I’m still north of 3pm ejection. I’m at like 2pm now vs 1pm. So Ktm131rob are you running yours in restricted mode?
