Been a bunch of Dawg stories lately, heres another cute one.

A dog incredibly managed to save his own life by dialing 911. George, a two-year-old Basset Hound in England, became tangled in the cord after knocking his family's phone to the ground.

As the pup panicked, he somehow managed to call for help -- dialing the British equivalent of 911 -- as he frantically tried to free himself.

The emergency operator alerted police, who rushed to the residence. They were preparing to knock down the door when a neighbor with a key arrived on the scene to let them in. The neighbor, Paul Walker, recalled, "The police split up and ran through the house thinking someone had either been attacked or was desperately ill. I went to look round as well and walked into this room and saw George choking. He was absolutely terrified and could not free himself. I knew I had to get him free quickly so I just ripped the wire out."

His relieved owner said afterwards, "By the time I got back the police had gone and George was looking a little sorry for himself. It is just so lucky that his paw managed to ring 999 otherwise he would have died. We still don't know how he managed it. It's one of those old-fashioned phones with the dialing ring."

That fact throws the whole thing into doubt but stranger things have happened.
