This is my first post. so i would like to thank the people who make this place happen. and the fine folks serving in our military.
Ive been waiting for 4 months for a 700 sps aac .308. i was going to drop it in a aics ax chassis, And get a night force scope, suppressor and be done. i was wanting to keep it under $4500 well the local dealer lost my order.
So i made a 150 mile round trip to oklahoma city this weekend. and i found a 700 aac. but they also had sako's in .308 and 300 mag. this is my first long gun. Ive never been a hunter but have always shot. me and my dad bought quite a bit of land this last year. So long range target shooting and deer and hog hunting is something im wanting to get into. we deal with quite a bit of wind here on the western plains of oklahoma. and most of my hunter friend's say Im gonna want the 300 mag. quite a few of them are using 338 lapua's.
so what's you guys opinion. Should i stay the course and do the 700 aac in .308 build. or go for the sako in 300 mag. i loved how the sako felt in my hands. the trade off will be in glass though, and ill still may go over my budget. i will probably have to go with a vortex viper instead of the night force, if i go with the sako. summers here and im ready to shoot. so im gonna make my move in the next week. Thanks to all for your help.
