Defiance Deviant Elite vs Defiance Deviant Tactical

Comes down to; CRF vs. push and mechanical ejector vs. spring loaded. From what I have read/seen, they are both fantastic actions and you can't make a wrong choice with Defiance! My CRF LH Deviant Elite is stuck in border jail (customs) right now and my hands are getting numb from me sitting on them ;)

I own a Deviant and considered the Deviant Elite for my next build. I played with one at SAC's shop a month or so back. It's nice, but keep in mind it's a medium action so you're going to have .25" more of bolt travel to cycle it. I did like the straight bolt handle over the swept style on the regular Deviant. Ultimately I called Defiance and ordered a new Deviant with the undersize bolt and KMW style bolt stem which is shorter. I also wanted it DLC coated. It's all personal preference. There is no wrong choice.

I thought all the Defiance were medium length for standard remington 700 footprint

It's an option, but not standard. They come in short, medium, XM and long. All of mine are short, as will be my next one. Many vendors like CORE order them in medium length.

Personally, no I don't notice it. But depending on what your planned chambering is it's something to take into consideration. My first Deviant was purchased through a vendor and I wasn't aware it was available any other way. For consistency all subsequent Deviants have been the same.

I have both and both are great. I think I like the Tac more but that may be because it is in a T4 over an MPA. The Elite feels different but the Tac feels like every other 700 clone (nicer but you get the point ).

I have both and even their CRF first gen which is like mausingfield bolt with wrapped extractor..the elite or CRF is much better if you're planning to coat bolt...the binding with tactical deviant will get worst with coat..
The tenacity style bolt handle on elite is little diff but easy to get used to it..i like CRF it feel smoother when locking the bolt

Thanks for the input guys I'm leaning towards the Elite

I'm thinking of going with a nitrided action what do you guys think? Or should I just leave it polished

Get it nitrided or DLC'd from the factory. I ended up having the outside of mine cerakoted but I wanted it NOW. If I was more patient I would have waited and gone for Nitride probably.
