did holosun steal their technology?

Hilarity - this SAS badass who took down the Kenyan hotel killers? He has a goddamn Holosun up there.

I’m just gonna say - I’m scared the Holosun are better than most US made units. And I am gonna add I have seen a few hundred now and maybe a million rounds fired underneath Holosun s and 0 failures ever.

What he said.

Just back from Thunder Ranch with mine and not even a hiccup.

What about all the features Holosun has that others don’t? They might be Chinese but they’re the only ones actually trying to make a better sight. Selectable reticles, ease of battery access in most models, solar charging, the new battery-free sight…those dudes have some shit going on.

Like was mentioned, seeing as to how they've been the innovators for features that others are JUST NOW starting to implement, I'd say that it appears to be that others might be the ones stealing it from them... 🤷🏼

Yep. I’m way over spending twice as much on a shitbox RMR that is made out of reclaimed glass from a Civil War battlefield and electronics that can’t withstand the recoil of a cap gun.

Quality is where you find it.

I prefer Aussie made followed closely by USA/Canada made but there are certain things that China does much better.

DJI drones for example.

At the rate things are unfolding, they will soon make a better car.

Truthfully, the rmr is way behind the ball optically…but the 6.5 MOA dot is great for my astigmatism and that was more paramount to me over remaining requirements.

Take this to the Arken thread 🤣

I don’t like changing batteries…the solar feature is nice

When I do I don’t want to take the thing off…top/side mounted batteries are nice

I like the single dot but I am sure some people like the circle/dot

If you want an 11457 MOA melted crayon for an aiming point that FO RMR is excellent

used to run the triangle. that pistol got ripped off but it had a handy feature. top of triangle for zero. bottom of triangle for up close POA POI.

washed out a bit at times but still an interesting forward thinking optic.

I have one on a turkey gun where it works pretty decent, but for me the dot is either too bright when illuminated by the FO or too dim when the tritium lights it up.

The circle dot on their 508/509t is great when you run their rmr on an acog piggy back. That way you can use the bottom of the circle for anything inside 10yards.

solar charging... dont care

selectable reticles.. don't care.

battery location... no big deal.

battery free.. trijicon has had that for ages now.
So, basically, based on your post, you could care less about everything else, but they stole battery-free solar operation and you're pissed about it, so you started this thread?

I really like my HS507C-X2 on my SA Saint Victor 7.5" 5.56 with an ADM QD mount. Works awesome for that setup. No problem hitting the gong 10/10 at 100 yards, and even about 5-6/10 at 200 with no magnifier. 👍🏼

Reliability. Huge care. That's why I went with Holosun 507C after breaking 3 RM07's in a span of 12 months. 507C is doing just fine.

Granted, I did recently buy an RMR HRS / Type 2, but it barely has 200 live fire slide cycles. So time will tell.

Yeah. Got some dead RMRs here too. they don’t seem to be made for mounting on pistol slides lol.

No, he tried to start a Holoson/China bashing thread, but it didn’t go the way he expected. I’m really surprised that milfdots hasn’t been in here yet. He doesn’t seem to miss an opportunity to opine on the subject, even if the opportunity hasn’t presented itself...

curious about this.

and is their any truth to them being a CCP funded entity?
@Ndbowhunter

Just saw this thread.

A CCP/Chinese Communist Party funding arm made it possible for Huanic corp to exist. Huanic corp is one of at least a few electro-optics makers in China, and they make optics and optics components for some OEMs. Huanic owns the marketing brands Holosun and Surpass Technologies who share the same address and phone system in a California receiving drop. Those marketing brands were invented to more easily overcome Americans' natural disdain for communist products.

The CCP, as a regular practice ignores patents, trademarks, copyrights, and steals designs, intellectual property, etc. They use slave labor at will, and manipulate their currency, in an overall strategy of predatory trade. All of these things make it impossible to compete against them because citizens of the Western world find all of that worth going to war over- it's a big part of our hate for the CCP.

The CCP already controls many industries, for instance they control about 85 percent of our antibiotics meds, nearly all of the blood pressure meds. The Wuhan Flu/China Virus C19 has been a huge wakeup call for hundreds of millions of people around the world who know it was man made in the Wuhan lab and allowed by the CCP to spread globally while domestic Chinese flights were banned.

Why can't we in the shooting sports protect this ONE industry from them? all it would take is for us to Man Up and have some ethics- God knows we're justified in hating the CCP for many monumental reasons.

If someone just has to have a HS optic, buy a used one.

Logic dictates that western nation companies having stuff made in China is not cool- but it's not nearly as un-American and self defeating as buying from a CCP company like HS. Accordingly, if a person isn't willing to reject CCP companies, they've got no credibility to bitch about stuff that's just made in China for Western companies. Where one's internet-connected device is made is irrelevant to the topic of CCP optics and shooting related products.

Let me make it clear that we should have no problem with the Chinese people- those who dream of freedom (but not the CCP sympathizers). Our beef is with the western world's greatest external threat known as the CCP.

I dont know.....they played a role in this whole covid thing somehow - whether by mistake or in collusion - either way they suck and I wouldnt by a breath of air from them if I was drowning.
PMClaine gets it.

China sent 380,000 combat troops into NKorea to kill Allied forces in the Korean war- that alone is enough for me. Throw in their economic war against America. Their manmade Wuhan Flu and banning domestic flights but not international flights.

Even if you bought a used Holosun optic from an individual, SOMEBODY bought it from a distributor, who bought it from HS down the line... It's already bought and paid for. Mfg to distributor to store to consumer...That's how the supply chain works. Unless you cut off everything at the ports...Then you'll never stop it. That's the sad reality of it. That's why I don't worry so much about where my shit is made anymore. Somewhere down the line it funnels some of the money to china. Even "American made" cars and trucks use chinese made electronics, molded plastic parts, microchips, etc...

I don't like it, but it's reality.

And old Creepy Joe seems to take a lot of his playbook from the CCP...The same folks that pay him and Hunter hundreds of millions of dollars for our monetary dependance on them by making us even more dependent on other countries, and LESS self-sufficient.

People at the start won't buy it if people at the end don't buy it.

This is always hilarious hearing the same nonsense spewed by everyone convincing themselves it was ok to buy commie goods. Anybody who complains about removing two screws instead of one screw to change a battery and think that that’s somehow a major convenience is plumb retarded. Their reticles also fucking blow, everything but the dot is just a blob in the pistol optics, but congrats on them for including some additional unusable reticles I supposed.

Another retarded thing people say. No, a RMR doesn’t cost twice as much as a Holosun. Again, retards quoting MSRP to make themselves feel better.

A brand new RMR RM01 is $409.99 at Euro Optic.

A brand new RMR RM06 is $449.99 at Euro Optic.

That’s not twice as much unless you can’t math.

But go ahead and support the commies who hate us and fuck us every chance they get. Uncle Joe is very proud of people like you.

I was gonna spend time on a rebuttal to all the retardation but this guy just nailed it.

I can tell who doesn't know how to use a PMO when they complain about reticle choices and glass quality..............

I’ll take the Pepsi challenge on not knowing how to use one. Since you’re the one talking shit, I live just north of Denver and I have a range. I’ll pick you up at the airport, we’ll head out and do some shooting. I’ve got a nice guest suite and flights are cheap. I’ve got spare dual-tube NVGs for you, we’ll shoot at night too. If the weather is dicey there’s an indoor range at my office and there are 2 indoor USPSA matches ever week between there and my house. @Krob95 can come run the timer, it will be a hoot. His mullet is majestic.

I hate the RMR motherfuckers, sue me. I used to literally shoot for a living and my partner and I broke FOURTEEN RMRs in a year. I’ve seen dozens of others not hold up. We had to carry 4 spares just so we and students could make it thru a class.

I will take not knowing what they cost on the chin, I thought they were still like $700. Sorry. In full transparency I paid exactly zero dollars for the ones I broke.

Glass quality? I cracked 5 of them on Glock 17 slides without any impacts. The cuts were fine, Doug at ATEI did all of mine. I could care less if it looks like a Tangent when I am looking thru it, it’s on a pistol.

I don’t like China, I’d rather use something made literally anywhere else. Relative to what pistol optics cost money is not a factor for me, I just want what works the best. I have no confidence in RMRs and I still don’t want to unmount my optic to change the batteries. DP Pros have been OK and the new EoTech is interesting, but for anything with an RMR cut it’s getting a 507C.

Why would I want to come spend my valuable time with someone that has their head up their ass? That doesn't sound enjoyable at all, but thanks for the offer I guess.

I've never heard of so many broken RMR's. Got any pictures to show these 5 cracked lenses? I've got pictures of the two Holosuns I received with FUBAR lenses right out of the box, one chipped and one cracked. So actually making it onto the gun to be cracked it still a win. I'd be happy to go back through my phone to post them.

RMR's were never $700. That's something that stupid people say and other stupid people repeat it. This makes me have an even harder time believing you because if you have legitimately had so many RMR's then you would know what they actually cost.

I also have to LOL at owning dual tubes but bitching about the cost of a high quality $400-$450 red dot.
