I finally completed a LONG overdue shop/reloading room cleanup and re-organization. I have SO much more room and its so much more functional now. Was driving my nuts and couldnt move in there but spent the last 2 weekends cleaning out, re-arranging benches, presses, toolheads, bullets, brass, etc.
I now have a single bench I cut down height wise that has both my Super 1050's on side by side. All my 1050 parts, toolheads, Ammobot, etc. I have 1 dedicated to 5.56 and the other dedicated to 9mm. Both have every bell and whistle., case feeder, bulletfeeder, mirrors, Ammobot, RT1500 trimmer, etc.
I am finally replacing both the older style case feeders on the 1050's with new Dillon variable speed case feeders. The older style case feeders work, but they are slower than the new variable speed on my XL650 so I decided to replace them. Ill be posting them up for sale at a nice discount but both work perfectly as intended.
I have 2 Mr. Bulletfeeders on the 1050's and I have a 3D printed Mr.Bulletfeeder on my XL650. Ive had the 3D printed one for many years and works perfectly fine. I have 9mm, 45, and 223 plates for it. I REALLY love the new DAA quick change nose guides I have installed on my Mr. Bulletfeeders on the 1050's and wish I had them on my XL650 which is making me want to buy another Mr.Bulletfeeder for it..
Once adjusted properly for the bullet your loading, the 3D printed bulletfeeder works perfect but takes a LOT longer to get adjusted when switching between bullets/calibers..
Now that I have the 2 dedicated 1050's setup for 5.56 and 9mm, my XL650 is my odd ball progressive press for calibers I want to push out qty of but arent high precision bolt guns. Thats still done on my 550c but really rethinking that these days and possibly going to a ZERO...
Right now Im jumping pretty regularly between 10mm and 45ACP with 308win and 6.5cm mixed in on the XL650. Its so frustrating when I get the 3D printed bulletfeeder dialed in then switch from 45 to 10mm and have to do it all over again and vice versa. There is no quick switching between calibers.
I just looked and DAA has the Mr.Bulletfeeder Gen2 available now. I didnt even know that released. Anyone have the Gen2 in their hands right now and been using it? Thoughts? Anyone had a Gen1 and now a Gen2 and have any feedback, positive or negative?? I see its no longer metal, all injection molding, comes standard with the DAA quick adjust bullet nose guide which is amazing, new bullet plates for 9mm and 223, and I really like the new spring quick attach locking design vs the old philips machine screw jammed into the plastic collar...
