New bolt knob design. Nothing special, but I havent seen any this size(small)

Every other knob on the market I know of is "oversized". Badgers are around 1" x 1.6" for example. My knobs average .850" x 1.5"

I wanted something that wasn't as big as the others. It's about 1/2" longer than factory, and barely larger in diameter.

The knob in this picture is Durabaked. That's not Cerakote.

It saves weight over factory because it's aluminum too. Not much, but to some people every ounce matters.

It's about half the length of other bolt knobs, and again about 1/2" longer than factory.

All my knobs are the same in some ways but different in every way

Re: New design for Rem700s

I like it Kieth. I will be sending you a bolt pretty soon here and I think I'll send one of my other ones you did back and have this smaller one put on. This looks to be about perfect for the hunting rigs.

Re: New design for Rem700s

I like it alot!!! I had a badger put on a 700 and it's just too long for my hand, or the smith that put it on didn't cut enough of the original knob off. When I get my hand in the firing position my trigger finger pushes the bolt up knocking it out of battery. I am taking the online classes so I don't think that my hand is in a bad position.

If it has the same threads as the badger would you consider selling just the knob? What's the price shipped if you would sell it that way or even one a little shorter maybe, just round but bigger diameter than the factory.

I'm with Walsh, AZP nubby sounds good!

Still, I like the bigger knob, just for looks though. </div></div>

Re: New design for Rem700s

I can thread it the same as Badger.
We use a 10-32 stud to install. Several people use this method and it's very strong. It's stronger than the silver solder holding your handle on to your bolt.

I dont know if I will add this knob to my website or not. It might just be for Hide Members.

And I guess it's now the "Nubby Knob"

Nothing special I know, but thanks for lookin at my knob guys!

Re: New design for Rem700s

I havent learned engraving.

I thought about stamping letters/numbers on there if someone wants it done, but if I messed up I'd have to make a new knob.

As for it being a mini Varminter, it looks that way but is different. It has a steeper nose, a 60 degree boat tail, slightly slimmer body, and obviously all sides on it are smaller as well. All my knobs kiinda look alike, but they all serve a different purpose. They're all different in my opinion.

Remember everyone, that I can hollow the base on my Phoenix and Varminter knobs. This one could be hollowed too, but I see little reason to.

Re: New design for Rem700s

I think a lot of guys with big hands/long fingers will like this better than the big "Tactical" knobs. I had one similar to this, made by Holland, put on a 700 and I have another 700 with the Badger knob. My trigger finger doesn't hit the smaller knob like it does the Badger.

Re: New design for Rem700s

i like it! here i was set to send in my bolt for a phoenix knob and i see this thread. Any chance you could cut grooves in in as well as hollow it out like the Phoneix Tac i was going to order?

Re: New design for Rem700s

Keep in mind guys that my knobs screw on and off easily.

If you have one of my knobs and want a different one, all you have to do is get another one and screw it on. Screw it on tight and it will stay.

Even if you have a Badger, it can be replaced by any knob.

Re: New design for Rem700s

Still a good time to send in and get it back quick.

the knob name has been decided. The "Nubby" is how it shall be known.

Anyone who wants THIS knob and is a Hide member, I will offer it discounted for $65.

It has to be this "Nubby" knob, and $65 includes Cerakote of the knob.

Mention this post/add when you order and the price is $65. Again, just for this knob, and only for Hide members.

Thank you!

Thanks
