The funny thing is nobody gave a shit with Jack Dorsey at the helm of Twitter and he is a billionaire.
We all agree that we don't need another alphabet government agency deciding what is The Truth *but* the truth is that someone needs to do something about lies. damn lies, manipulation, mis/dis information, and confusion. I mean even Trump called "Fake News" so damn many times it was nauseating and upon researching what he called fake news/lies I found out many times (not always) that *HE* was the liar. Pathologically so.
This is a new age and the Internet and mis/dis information is destroying the world as we know it - we can't believe anything we didn't witness live with our own two eyes and bullshit/lies fly about the Globe at the speed of light. Propaganda and outright lies? Everyone on The 'Net (that would be everyone) gets information, good/bad/right/wrong/lies/dis/mis information in an instant and literally no one has the means of figuring out if it's true, half true, total bullshit, propaganda, or manipulation.
Clearly this is not 1964 or even 1984. Something needs to be done to sort it all out but I don't see a solution for getting the Truth real time. I don't want the .GOV involved but what's The Plan? There needs to be some serious penalties for people who spread bullshit but that would jail about 3/4's of our "Representation". No clue what to do.

Going to be the same as COVID "measures". Private corps will enforce, government will claim they just give advice with no power of law behind them.

While this is technically true, there is one thing I think they understood that is even more relevant - knowledge and acceptance of human nature.

The government removed the law against using propaganda AGAINST the citizens of this country. Which means this government sponsored disinformation is coming directly FROM the US Government. Them creating yet another government agency to ensure their very own monopoly on fake news is completely wrong and directly in violation of the Constitution.
