Rifle Scopes Dissapointed in my Bushnell DMR2!!!

i got my new acope today after a mix up sending e back a XRS instead.

But I still notice a wiggle in the unlock position of the windage knob. i am going to use it for one match and just use windage holds since i normally to that anyways.

Starting to think this is normal for this scope.

That's a real bummer for sure. I am going to try and take a short video of the windage knob wiggle and will post here to see if its the same as you are experiencing. I may contact Bushnell about it but I don't want to deal with that if they are just going to send me a replacement with the same issue.

yea it sucks, the glass is really bright tho almost just as good as my SWFA HD, but the reticle is way better and thinner and has number so i don't have to use my fingers to count. plus side the click are super solid like they are almost hard to turn which i completely prefer. So i am just gonna zero it and lock it down.

My buddy just picked one of these up. Said it has a wobble in the windage turret. Bushnell sent him a label to check it out. I'll let you guys know the outcome.

Not exactly the same scope, but very similar turrets, my LRTSi has no wobble in the turrets that I can detect.

Here is a video taken by Eric32 of the wiggle in the windage turret. I couldn't figure out how to post this is an attachment here (wouldn't allow .mp3 files). This video is of the replacement scope that Bushnell just sent him... my turret exhibits the same wiggle while in the unlocked position. Clicks are still positive and its solid when in the locked position.

Yea, the DMRII has some wobble in the windage turret. The mechanical internals are solid, it's the piece that slides in and out that links the turret to the scope that has a sloppy fit. Mechanically it tracks great, you are just going to feel some play. The DMR gen 1 has this same thing to a lesser extent on both the elevation and windage knobs.

Thanks for chiming in, I find your input interesting because there were a few people here who stated that they (or someone they know with the scope) have absolutely no play in the turrets. Maybe they just weren't sure what play we were talking about, or they haven't taken a closer look at the windage turret in the unlocked position.

There is zero play in the elevation knob, just windage because of the design. And these folks that say there is very little play in the windage knob could be right too. The parts are made in batches, and possibly by more than one 3rd party company, so tolerances could very well be different which would make some scopes more or less prone to this than others. I'm 100% positive there is no slop in the mechanical assembly that actually moves the reticle, so the tiny bit of play on the turret knob doesn't bother me really. I've had it on my rifle for around 3 months (800-900 rounds) and it has held perfect zero and tracks great.

Buddy got his DMR2 back today after a week and a half at Bushnell. They sent it back with a letter saying wobble is normal on this model.

This might be my first post but learned alot here. Reviving and old thread but my DMR 2 was tight when I started shooting yesterday. 7 rounds in, I started missing steel (dialing between 212 and 437yrds for prs style practice). Couldnt figure out what was going on till I noticed my whole elevation turret was wobbling. Tried to confirm zero at 100yrds but when dialing back the whole turret started to free spin. Just sent it back to Bushnell so hopefully they resolve it quick. Has anyone else had this happen? Was about to pick up an xrs2 but a bit nervous about this type of critical failure.
