Do I need a 700 in my arsenal.

I recently bought a 700 Long Range in 308... it shoots very well but I've come to realize it needs about everything done to the action that guys mention in this thread. Bolt has been locking up after every round now and I had to dial the scope 3 mil left to sight it in at 100, top rail/screws probably ain't straight.

Not everyone has money for a custom build. So many people buy just factory rifle to shoot
If money is an issue and you don’t shoot a lot, but are dedicated to Remington and no other brand, look for a older 5r in 308 on gunbroker or here
Another option is an older 40x or 40xb range from 1200-2000 on average.
Barrel will last you forever and depending on skill level and ammo you can hit 600-1000m

Resale value will stay about the same, but finding a buyer with so many “better” options these days will be harder.

But a lot of us older guys remember when Remington was a good go to out the box rifle.
I have no experience with current builds minus a 2010, so I can’t comment on newer productions
