Does Anyone Use An Electrically Heated Vest

Just curious, does anyone here use an electrically heated vest to stay warm in extremely cold temperatures?

If so, what make and model do you use? Any other thoughts?

I had one when I used to be a three season biker in NY. Don't remember the brand. But when you clicked it on it would heat up pretty good. It always felt heavy, the wires were stiff and I always worried if I kinked one it would break, and I didn’t like it well enuf to replace it, but I did like it well enuf to ride some clear days in the mid 20's.

Was that very long ago? I'm asking because the manufacturers might have improved on the vests since then.

There seem to be some good products showing up in that category. I bought my wife a heated jacket off of dvor, and the company was called "mobile warming", so I'm sure the Chinese slave children that made them had mange and bed bugs, but it showed up and fit her well, looked really good, the material was pretty nice. She reported favorable results from the heating portion, and wore it for maybe 3 months before it stopped heating.

My wife bought me one of the Milwaukee M12 vests on Black Friday last year and it’s AWESOME.

Screw wearing 5 layers and feeling like Ralphie. The vest and a good windproof coat and you’re done.

I use it hunting, ice fishing, plowing snow, and just about everything winter related.

Don’t know how long the battery lasts though, I just use it for 10-15 min at a time to take the chill off. Works wonders for that.

I have two of the Milwaukee ones. One a standalone vest and the other came with a camo jacket.
The standalone is fairly slim fitting and I wear it at work. It’s less about being that cold here and more about being able to wear less and stay slimmer and more mobile.
The other has hand warmer pockets with their own control button. Buttons face inward so there is no light emitted and the battery pocket has a zipper to expand it to use larger batteries.

My wife and I have the Ororo heated vests. We've had them for 6 years now. The best part of the vests we have is the heated neck part. That is what feels the best to me.

I like the heated feature because then it's not about adding or subtracting layers and taking things on and off, but it's just a click of a button to warm up and click it off again when I'm warm.

I have a Milwaukee M12 I bought on clearance last spring. Now that it’s below zero I’ve started wearing it. I like it so far.

I wear vests a lot. As a vest, this one isn’t my favorite, but the extra heat is nice.

Yup… Arctic and high-altitude riding make them awesome!!!

Mine is a H-D brand. But most big bike companies have a good flavor or two and they are nice! Keeping your core warm is everything!!
