I talked to a Class 3 dealer today about ordering a TBAC 30p-1. They are a TBAC authorized dealer but they don't stock them. He said it was a special order.

He also said it would be a 10 week lead time including the form 3 transfer.

So it would be 10 weeks before the ATF even gets the form 4 ?

Do those time lines sound right

Re: Does this sound right to you guys

Very possible.
1. If TBAC doesnt have any in stock and has to make them prior to sending ATF the form 3. Then the month or 2 it takes for the transfer from them to the dealer.

2. Maybe your dealer is just setting realistic expectations because he is sick of hearing people complain when they think the form 3 will only take 4 weeks and it turns into 10.

It all boils down to do you want the can or not and do you want to purchase it from him. Transfer times vary so dont expect anything and you'll be better off in the long run. Once you expect it to be completed in a certain period of time, it will overrun and you will be upset.

Thanks for the info guys...

Now this dealer I've been talking to says I have to get an attorney to set up a trust.

I didn't think that was a requirement.

Re: Does this sound right to you guys

I know a lot of guys who used quicken willmaker.

I've done Power Of Attorney's multiple times for deployments from online templates I bought.

I don't think the lawyer is a requirement- what is a requirement is that it is laid out properly but that's what quicken probably employs lawyers for.
