Dumbass of the morning - 226k in debt? Journey for Bernie!

I am Blessed with how my kids did school.
Pa paid some but they did cash negotiations for classes up front, and we paid, or waited., then took the class, worked a lot and knew how to live within their means. They all Graduated to some Degree or another.
All 3 are contributors to society with good jobs, homes and Family, and I have 5 young shooters coming along: one age 16 and a good shooter and a half sister who comes along too and she is getting better, then 3 boys at 9, 5, and 2 so not old enough for training by Pa just yet.
We don't owe shit on student loans and have paid off loans that married in .

How many kids do you know of that actually went in and sat down and negotiated a cash price for a class?
It can be done. FM
ALL of my kids were raised around Firearms so knew of them from birth and were taught about them from both The Squaw and I and know them to be tools---yet also know they are a source of great fun too.
All own rifles and maintain a Basic Load.

I got my GED at 17 and had all my school after that more than paid for by a family education trust. I got a Masters with it, and a then huge helping hand finding the right job afterwards. It really makes a difference to have someone you know in the career or company you want to work for. Now I got me a nice little farmhouse in the country I'm chipping away at, no roommates, no bad slave wage fuckery. My blood really set me up right, and I don't think I'll ever be more thankful for a single gesture in my entire life.

That said, I ain't paying Bernie fucking Sanders a goddamned dime. That socialist sumbitch wants to make a difference then start a foundation, but he just wants power and to be historically relevant in the short time he has left.

Go look on the Fox News front page and check out the archival footage they have of that dumbfuck in his younger days. Redder than a fucking fire truck and proud as a peacock of it. His wife is no damned better.

This is the norm of what is coming out of the universities in this country. You should just acknowledge it, and prepare accordingly.
Oh yes and then some have been exposed to brain washing since K-12 made it easier for the professors. Shit been going on for almost 50years grab the 16 yr. Olds history book and take a read it's disturbing they managed to erase some demonize some change some and promote what they feel is important. Give any young person a number of questions you think that they should know about history some think WW2 was in the 60's don't bother asking about the constitution. They do learn a lot about slavery black history (which is part of history) but omit a lot around it. Someone said if you don't know history you are bound to repeat it. Military included.

Every time the politicians promise financial aid for college it is a bone thrown to the colleges, bankers, and professors. It has nothing to do with what’s good for American citizens and most especially students.

If all aid was removed then probably half these schools would go out of business.

The whole “go to college” meme is brainwashing, ie marketing by legal organized crime.
Quoted so everyone can read it again.

Financial institutions love taking advantage of people who don't understand finances. It's a bit shocking how the majority of people are so ignorant of how interest works, even "adults". Some of these college loans are downright predatory - 8+% accrued daily should be criminal.

That said, people also make real shitty decisions. Paying six figures for a degree that has almost zero job prospects is retarded.

Hi,

Here is how degraded/entitlement based some youth of today have become.

4 months ago I went to a local high school career fair with the following offer for entry level job:

I would pay for educational courses (online) to teach fundamentals of Ocean Freight Forwarding, Air Freight Forwarding and US Customs Broker.
I would pay all fees to obtain licensing for the above.
Upon successful completion and receipt of said licenses you would work for my company in a brand new division in which I will allow you to work from home with work schedule of three 12 hour days per week.
Stipulations:
MUST have home office but I supply ALL office equipment for your home office.
MUST work for my company for minimum of 2 years or you have to repay all courses and licensing fees.

Here are some of the questions I got:
Are you going to pay for my house or apartment because you are requiring a home office?
Are you going to pay my living expenses while I am taking the courses and getting licensed?
Are you going to pay my way to get to the licensing exams?
How many days paid vacation do I get a month?
How many days paid sick time do I get a month?

Sincerely,
Theis

I get people all the time asking me how I got my job in the Arctic on a drilling rig working 6 months a year. I tell them the story. I packed all my stuff in my 2 door car and drove from Georgia to Wyoming. I grabbed a paper. The closet place to where I was that had a help wanted add in the paper I drove to their parking lot and slept in my car till they showed up. I took oppeetunities where they were given not knowing if it was the right choice or not.

After explaining this to them and pointing them in a direction I didn’t have they ask “well can’t you just get me a job?”

You would think the first question would be “when can I start?”

Hi,

But on highly positive note....
I went to local Veterans Support Group and had job filled in 5 minutes.
Big difference in youth and Vets in regards to attitudes and perceptions.

Vet groups from here on out when need someone.

Sincerely,
Theis

Veterans are the cream of our society they sacrifice themselves to keep us safe , warriors that want nothing else to be know as warriors. Thank God for them were still free even though its upsetting to look at their headstones. A debt we can never repay a simple thank you is never enough.

to play devil's advocate: its not that bad, she'll be making around 70-90K a year. the payments wont be that bad with that salary. that being said, i lean left of center and not even I like bernie. i think the whole pay for everyone's college thing is a giant waste of money. most people dont need it. either their family can afford it (wealthy), their future salary can afford it (medical students and 300K+ in loans), or some combination of the above (upper middle class+engineering). lastly, if someone chooses a career field that has a garbage salary or little to no opportunities, i dont think society should be paying for it. if you choose fine art or philosophy or russian literature and you cant find a job, thats your choice and not something i need to subsidize. i dont agree with the whole, do what you love for a job thing that gets taught in schools. its trash. do something that you can tolerate and pays the bills and find your meaning in life outside of work. its called work for a reason, most people arent going to find something they love or try and pursue and end up with some dead end degree. or at least add the caveat of: make sure what you love has a satisfactory salary and job market and also have a backup plan.

i also learned to never underestimate peoples' ability to be stupid. theres an appalling lack of common sense

The whole reason you can get a degree in Russian Literature (in the USA) or Art History, etc. was after WWII the university system expanded like mad because “everybody” was supposed to go to college. Add females into the mix and it was our leading growth industry for decades. Now we educate the world ~ and those children of foreign criminals pay full tuition.

Ask any college professor or dean and they’ll admit that they don’t care about preparing people for careers but they want students to “learn for the joy of it”.

In other words what used to be known as a hobby....

I think teaching kids how to read and educate themselves is best. If we didn’t have our heads up our asses we’d realize that anyone should be able to test for credit and professional licensing without going to college. If someone learns better from reading or watching free videos rather than spending $50k to sit in a lecture hall ~ more power to them!

Can they do the work or not?

I taught myself from reading and doing, made a small fortune and ran circles around pomps with Masters degrees. F college

I can make this story sadder.

If this stupid cu....oops, gotta be careful.

If she is lucky, she will land an entry level job at some municipality. The bad news, is that some poor fucker like me will have to train her entitled little brat ass.
"I'll have you know I have a four year degree!"

"Yeah, well right now, you need to go get that fucking shit sample off the belt filter press princess."

"I'm going to file a grievance!"

"I don't give a fuck! That piece of paper doesn't make you special. No one should be proud of you for spending a fortune, to end up barely making a living!"

"I can't believe they won't pay me top pay here!"

"You don't know your ass from a shotgun!"

"I can't believe YOU are my supervisor! You don't even have a degree!"

Ah....I don't know why I keep resisting retirement. I must be retarded.

Thank you for that. Offer it to the vets, first. If you run out of them, let me know.

thats something that most of my college friends never seemed to grasp, the entire reason why they went to college in the first place: to get a fuckin job. the professors and teachers all spewing the learn for the joy of it didnt help. so many of them either picked shit like jazz music or history and couldnt find paying jobs or didn't acquire any sort of relevant job experience and im like, all you did was sit in a lecture hall and take tests. how the heck are companies supposed to know if youre a professional that can actually work? college is a means to end and more kids need to be taught the reality of going to college and what different majors will get you once you graduate but at least around here, most schools just blindly preach go to college and figure it out later.

The people you work with makes a big difference in the real world, too. I've had a summer gig here and there where the folks I worked with were absolutely fucking unbearable to be around. Only job I ever quit I almost beat the shit out of this young guy that thought he was some kind of thug landscaper. I can't remember how many times I kicked that little shit off my fucking mower. He would steal shit and nobody liked him, but bossman decided to keep him because he worked for peanuts (when he showed up at all). They took him off my crew cause I was "being too hard on him". Maybe when he shows up every day without an attitude and does a quarter the work of literally anyone else getting paid, then I won't make him weed eat a quarter acre of dogshit. I fucking hated that guy so much I put in my two weeks before the season ended, I seriously thought I was going to end up in jail for beating the fuck outta him sooner or later. Bossman was cool though, I'm still friends with him, lets me borrow his tractor if I need to. I would have liked that job a whole lot if not for that one motherfucker, though.
