Non Operator here, Non Mil, Non cool anything. My Brother was a Weapons Controller for the "chairforce". that is as close to cool as it gets. What I don't understand is WHY would you claim to be IN the VERY small pool of REAL snipers and not expect to be called out on it? Is that the special kind of stupid I keep hearing about? I seriously can't wrap my head around people like this. Truly.

Despite 13 years of war reality is maybe 1% of the population knows dick about the military. Of that 1% most could probably sniff out Eddie but the group with actual means to verify and call him on it, that group is that much smaller.

For that Eddie type more often than not it works out for them with a stroked ego, a free beer or two and maybe once everyone blue moon they dont have to use their hand and they land some believer groupie strange.

The crime of his action is that he is taking the beer and ass that some guy in Arlington paid for.

Then it was game over for him.
He can impress airsofters, and apparently he could even impress the bunch at TR who posted his ridiculous video on their Youtube channel.
I guess the lesson there is that they know as much about shooting as most airsofters?

He goose was cooked through that relationship. Otherwise, he may have remained undetected forever.

Ya, My Brother being a weapons controller (air traffic control for planes with ordnance) would catch guys in bars saying they were Air force jet fighter pilots, My brother would then ask them what weapons systems and load out info and a bunch of other Mil-tech stuff that I don't even begin to understand......they would step all over themselves trying to get away from him...if they moved down the bar, my brother would follow...go to a table they were followed......he would run them out of the bar just asking more and more questions. I wish i could have been there to watch.

My brother has since retired about two years ago after his 20 years, but still has his eye out for the posers.....

Because he thinks it's glamerous and to the unknowing he could pull it off. Seems everyone wants and claims to be a sniper now a days. Poser's are a dime a dozen. One of the managers at my work is a former marine, also a former 8541. He also claimed to be be with 1st Force Recon. Naturally I started bullshitting with him, actually has his class photo from SSBC so all good there, but then he begins to mention that he had never been to the west cost, never been to Pendleton or Margarita. Bragged his ass off about being with 1st FORCON though........which happens to be FMFPac. (Pacific coast)I tend to stay away from him now, couldn't really out him as it could cost me my job but i'm sure deep down he now knows that I know he's a bullshitter.

However, it looks like he got the message. The is covering his tracks, and that is an acknowledgment of sorts. No matter how little you think of this guy, no good will come from pursuing this further. There are ramifications on both sides for outing him any further. If he is actually delusional, then the worst thing we can do is destroy the delusion. At this point I think it's best to lock this thread. Nothing and I mean Nothing good can come from further discussion on him. We don't want this guy to harm himself or anyone else because of what was said here. If the mods disagree with me the feel free to delete my post. I personally believe that we as a community are better people than to continue berating this man. I have, on so many occasions, especially when I went back to college, told people that I was an Army cook. What is always funny is when a college classmate would introduce me to another Vet friend of theirs and we would start going through the schools and stops checklist. Inevitably, the other guy would blow my cover.

LMFAO!! There is no Sniper I, II, and III in the Corps. There is SSBC and SSAC, and I believe now there is an Urban course as well unless they're still using the advanced course as urban engagements. I'm starting to wonder if this guy just went through a local precision rifle course. I know sometimes they label those type courses as "sniper". if he did go through a PR class, it must have been a shitty one or he didn't learn anything cause his form strait up sucks.
