Rifle Scopes ELCAN SpecterDR 1.5x6 for 50BMG ?

Anyone know anything about ELCAN SpecterDR 1.5x6 with a reticle for the 50bmg? I am a distributor for ELCAN and never seen or even heard of these before.

Story is I just took 2 of them brand new in trade from a soldier who was allegedly given these optics to play with in the field by ELCAN but wasn't permitted to use them in the field so they were never used...

Thoughts?

My thoughts are its for a m2 and that you just likely got shafted by joe..
I would say its a safe bet they're stolen.. I would get my shit back.. But who knows maybe I'm wrong...

From Ratheon website:

SpecterDR 1.5-6x™

The SpecterDR™ by ELCAN is a revolutionary optical design that combines the best of close combat and precision fire ranging features into a single, low profile dual-field-of view (DFOV) sight. SpecterDR 1.5-6x, with its dual-role capability gives machine gun operators and designated marksmen a sweeping 1.5x view of the battlefield for target acquisition, then allows instant switching to 6x for accurate, long range precision fire and suppression.

Situational awareness in both magnifications is improved with wider viewing angles and unmatched light transmission in low light conditions. SpecterDR™ 1.5-6x can be ordered with 5.56, 7.62 or .50Cal variable illuminated night vision compatible reticles as well. SpecterDR™ 1.5-6x Specifications

Read the last paragraph, says its possible.

I have never seen one in real life before (the 50 bmg reticle).

I run a 1.5-6x 7.62 and I am very familiar with the product.

The models you have look odd. In my opinion they are older models (due to the logo's on the side), prototypes (due to the mis- coloration of the lens frame to the body frame) or FAKES. Also on the current 1.5-6x models the optic bell and body are 1 piece. Not separate like the 4x versions. The 50 bmg reticle is not and option in the 4x frame, only the larger 1.5-6x frame.

Without having them in my hand I could not be for sure.

Look at this:

That is exactly how my Elcan looks. Yours look like the 1-4x model with a bigger bell. To me this confirms my earlier thoughts (prototype, older model or sadly FAKE).

Again though, the 50 BMG reticle is an option.

Good luck.

Re: ELCAN SpecterDR 1.5x6 for 50BMG ?

from what I understood from the guy he was given these as samples to test for ELCAN about 3 years ago and never did. So most likely prototypes?

Are these worth anything if thats the case?

I don't believe they are fake as I have authentic ELCAN's in my warehouse to compare. Only thing is I don't have a 50bmg model nor can I find one anywhere, including my price list!

Any value to these? </div></div>

"Most likely" if you believe him.

I believe know one, especially lying ass Joe. As a former 11b I can count on 1 finger the amount of "things" given to me.

Maybe I just wasn't high speed low drag enough to get things like this gifted to me. Last time I popped my balloon and went home there was a pretty severe checklist of anything Uncle Sam ever loaned me. Greedy ol dog wanted it all back. This doesn't mean I have never heard of things being lost or going unaccounted for, however those are just fancy motivated phrases for stolen US Government Property.

My vote goes for stolen if they are real.

Otherwise what you are saying is Chuck Norris's hogs tooth wearing, seal trident having, triple tabbed with a coin checked vetted cousin was given $5k worth of prototype optics just because and is allowed to trade/sell them for a profit because his elite delta/team 6 devgru hot spot jumping team doesn't authorize them. Sounds like a major minus to me and definitely a no go at this station.

Call the serial numbers into the Ratheon or ATT their distributer and they should be able to solve that mystery.

If there are no serial numbers then I sit firmly in the fake camp with a foot hanging over into prototypes because of the body style changes.

With all of that BS spewed.... Lets pretend they are real, not stolen and just generally GTG.

$1200-1600 each to the right guy who happens to own a ma deuce or wants to CQB his Barrett 20" (Isnt there a thread about that in the Semi section). This is considering the same vesion in 7.62 sells for $2500. I'm sure the BMG reticle has some cost, but its a limited market.

Again, good luck because of the above reason I have made light of. If I was in the market there are just too many un-answered questions for me to shell out that kind of dough.

Re: ELCAN SpecterDR 1.5x6 for 50BMG ?

as someone thats in the military you screwed up not calling it in pre paying him... trijicons end up stolen all the time and stores get screwed frequently. Hope you didn't end up with something that people want back.

that said I would think there would be some good uses for that optic on a m2 or a short barret in a city. but on the barret I think you'd be better with an offset aimpoint
