Oil is everywhere. It'll just keep getting harder to get. Refineries are rare, and require a lot of maintenance to keep pollution controls in place.
Oil accounts for very little power. Natural gas turbines in the oil fields are popping up where pipe-lines are easily accessible, but they're relatively low output.
A vast majority of power still comes from coal. Everyone loves a big tax income from mines and power plants.
We have more oil just in the NW US than all of the middle east if the maps are mostly correct. The only problem we have is that it's miles under the surface and the heat destroys drilling equipment. New stuff like liquid co2 cooling is letting us get deeper cheaper, but it's not mainstream yet.
I think most of the green energy crap is pure pump and dump stock for the politicians.
There was something about the huge display with the range and the miles per kWh. I hated that car. I didn’t care about saving money. I charged it at work for free. I just wanted to make the number higher. I can’t explain it.
I sort of get it. I try to see how high I can maintaine the miles per gallon in my ecodeseil truck...I'm not going without AC though. Of course it's just a shade past hell hot down here with 90% humidity so, you'd die trying to do that
As soon as they can make a light battery so the electric tractors wont bury themselves in the fields. And they can figure out how to not lose power with heavy loads, shortening the distance you can tow a boat or camper or even 80K behind a rig.
You actually want tractors to be heavy.
That's why the bigger ones always have wheel weights and sometimes a large stack of steel weights on the front end.
Not going out in the storm right now....but if you'd like, I can take photos tomorrow of some heavy ass weights on my tractors (yes,plural).
I was referencing directly personal transportation.
Energy in general gen3 and 4 reactors are the way to go.

My brother in Germany told me recently EV owners in certain areas over there are not more allowed to charge their EV or plug in HB at home! They are forced to use public charging stations.

As someone who has spent the last 30 years working in electrical power generation, I can tell you a couple of very important secrets that EV assholes refuse to believe.
1. Putting 125,000,000 electric cars in service will literally cripple the power grid and cause massive rolling blackouts, as it sits today. There is no way in Hell to generate the additional power and most of the major power lines cannot carry it.
2. Windmills and solar cost 3-400% more than every other source of electrical power, once they destroy all of the coal, natural gas, nuclear and hydroelectric power plants in America, expect to get fucked monthly by the power company. Electric cars will be far more expensive than gas to charge, especially if you want a $15-20K three phase power set-up at home.
3. Expect leftists to outright ban personal transportation or severely limit it at some point. The only way this works is if you ride the bus.
4. The way the government works, it takes decades to get upgrades to anything the Fed controls put into service. Buying the cart twenty years before you buy the horse is just stupid.

Several members that work in or have real world knowledge of the power distribution side of things have posted their thoughts in this thread concerning current grids and infrastructure.
The consensus is that existing distribution is barely hanging on as it is much less being able to handle an exponential increase in demand.
Once the F'ing idiots that are driving this short bus are forced to acknowledge this FACT as a tripping point to their "plans", do even one of you doubt for a second that they would hesitate to commit multiple trillions of non-existent dollars to a dedicated Build Back Better utility infrastructure plan to save the already fucked up direction they want to push us into?
Yes we could never repay the debt.
Yes, it would take a decade or two to get meaningful distribution and power generation upgrades on-line.
Yes the possibility is also there that Trillions could be spent and not a single improvement come to fruition.
None of this would stop the suicidal inertia of the dark side.

Tractors don't go 60mph in a field, they go maybe 10mph at most when working.
Gearing is made for low speed/high torque.
I can pull a 6 foot wide roto tiller digging 10 inches deep all day long, and *maybe* use 5 gallons of either diesel or gas (I have both and both get similar consumption rates).
I can't say for positive since I've never actually checked, but it seems using the hydraulics uses more fuel than the drivetrain.
For example, I have a hydraulic brush hog and the tractor uses lots more fuel running that than the PTO rototiller.
Just my experiences....others might have different and I dunno.....like I said, never looked into it myself.
I can assure you that we dont have the infrastructure for this, nor do we have the battery technology yet to even get close to the wet dream that is being proffered. Batteries will shit the bed (i.e., not have the "as advertised output") in heat, cold or under load. Fast charging will fuck them up too. If we go down this route RIGHT NOW we will throw ourselves into an economic depression heretofore unseen. Everything relies upon hydrocarbons at this point. Our dear leaders worldwide are playing God, and I suspect they know it.
We aren't going to die, AOC isnt going to be living in Waterworld with Pelosi at her beach house and we aren't going to revamp our electric grid within the next 20 years. Spending time on various boats this week & when you look at runabouts, ski/wakeboard boats, bass boats, pontoon boats, midsize sailboats, Jetski’s, and cruisers under maybe 45’-50’ that run generators, I don’t see how these types of watercraft can ever go fully electric. Too much added weight with limited range compared to fuel.
Take a wakeboard boat where you have 8 people on board with ballast tanks full of water while wake-surfing plowing thru the water is not running efficiently similar to the article above of an electric truck pulling an RV. Electric is just not a practical application for these types of smaller boats.
Technology may work it’s way into Large yachts as there is more area under the deck plus weight may not be as much of a concern compared to smaller boats but are there going to be rapid charging stations at docks all over the world? Don’t think so.
So you leave Miami sailing to the Bahamas are there going to be rapid charging stations on all the islands in the Caribbean? Probably not.
Too many variables to consider and in a marine environment I would not want to risk my families safety on the hopes of finding a marina with a rapid charging station when your almost out of juice.
