In the podcast they said 1299 for commercial and 1599 for Full Powered.

IIRC they said it is VCSEL. If it’s 75% as good as a MAWL for $1299 then BE Meyers might be in trouble. And if the FP version is really $1599 then maybe us plebes can get hand-me-downs for less than $5k.
Would be great to see the specs on this. If they don't somehow fuck up the VCSEL implementation I want to assume that the illumination power would be closer to the MAWL (150mW) versus the NGAL/RAID-X (90mW) given that it's much larger than the NGAL and for the civ price it should be more than fine on illumination clarity & photonic barrier defeat.
My MAWL-C1+ can keep pace with my DA and NGAL for illumination and surpasses the DA in some ways with the newer programming.

I feel the same way with some of the NV and Thermal, but maybe I'm more like a 10 year old vs. 5, so I don't need to be tickled or bounced on a knee while explaining
. My military time was before most of this stuff was even reality, we had NV but they were beasts and they gave us very little time with them, no lasers and certainly no thermal - that would be sci-fi stuff (like Predator).
VCSEL is like a bunch of low powered lasers all working at once to make it seem like medium/ full power

Just bought a C1+ MAWL not to long ago. So maybe I’ll have 2 LAMs if price is at it’s said price on that one podcast
I just looked at the pics on IG. Not impressed with the controls. I was hoping to see more PEQ/NGAL/RAID type mode selector and illumination control dial. Eotech is close to putting out good stuff but outside their core holosights the execution seems to just miss. ( Their scopes and the mini RDS)
So much for the $1200 price point.
No mention of what type of illuminator they are using either

It's a half mW... that's nothing, if you're removing a filter or altering the device to get more power out of it good on you
I'm talking about Dbals, Atpials, MAWLs, Ngals etc...
Stuff pumping out 25-50mW of visible and IR power out of the box, good luck getting one of those without a purchase order from a Mil unit or LE agency unless it's grey market shit with no warranty

Honestly, ReGuLaTiOn is asinine BUT literally eye-popping infrared lasers have no business in the hands of your average citizen, inclusive of the police.
My point was not to compare to the current line of FP lasers but to say there is a way a mfr can produce options for civilian use that allow “alteration”.
I never said it would happen, just that there was a way it could. Obviously we’ve had similar situations (unlocked Raptar’s come to mind) that some Marxist politician gets handed some talking points and voila new regulations.

Reminds me of a dude I saw on Reddit. He made some post to the effect of “Fuck the FDA, if I can be trusted with a rifle I can be trusted with a laser.” Then he bought a full power Somogear laser and posted a video where he “tested” it by firing it at his neighbor’s house including through their windows like half a dozen times.
People are idiots. Thats why regulations exist because some retard hurt them self in a way people wouldnt think of using a product.

However, extensive regulations that protect, fertilize and promote the ability of the idiots to reproduce is further weakening the population by allowing them to expand their numbers and defy the laws of nature.
The laws of natural selection left to operate as they should, tends to build a stronger population.
