A little more info in this vid. Short version is it weighs 7 ounces and it is vccel.

But don’t worry, we have to make sure that all LEOs can buy these. The guys that love pointing guns at people more than anyone else and are not known for proficiency or not making mistakes. No LEO would ever accidentally leave on or turn on a laser and point it at peoples heads. And they DEFINITELY need a full power IR laser capable of pointing at things miles away
Haven’t found any official dimensions online, but it definitely felt fairly chunky in hand. Maybe the sharp edges made that more apparent than an old PEQ. Here’s a rough size comparison I threw together from the info I could find and a still frame from a video I took playing with it at SHOT. Grid is in cm and I scaled the OGL off the pic rail it was mounted to, so not super precise.
There is a point of diminishing returns IMHO regarding the size of these devices.
Given that there are knobs and dials etc that need to be accessed via hand at night by mainly feel, a device can become too small and a pain in the ass to work with.
To me, a Dbal A3 or A2 is about as small of a device as I would want. They are very compact.

Slightly off topic: Eotech went through a rough time a few years ago. I'm glad to see them innovating and working hard. I'm seeing an uptick in their popularity.
The NGAL rotary switch is basically the same as the PEQ15, they just shrunk the device around it. My DBAL D2 switch was much smaller and kinda shitty to feel for in the dark.
You perform very fast lasik surgery on the OPFOR then you are effectively passive after that.
Its a two step process.

Similar to a Raid. The aperture slider is its cool party piece. Works great. Otherwise, it performs almost identical to the NGAL or Raid. It comes down to price and ergonomic preference. If the OGL stay around $3K it should introduce some much needed competition. >$4K for a laser is ridonkulous.

If the market for FP lasers from competitors is $3300-3800, I fully expect the price to come in there because companies can’t let their products seem cheaper.

We were playing OPFOR at Bragg against one of the other Companies in my Battalion in the big cinder block construction MOUT site in 2002 before OIF1. Lots of night-fighting between units using PVS-14s and PEQ-2As. I remember lazing a bunch of dudes down the street using loopholes from within the building I was in, making sure I didn’t get near any windows, and set well enough back in the rooms.
After we returned and refit, we got the poop that someone’s eyes from that other company had been fried by a PEQ-2, and I’m pretty sure I was the guilty party. Keep in mind those guys were way down the street at around 150-200m. This was with the blue training use blocks in-place on top of the PEQ-2As. You needed Commander’s sign-off to remove the blocks, which I don’t ever remember removing.
IIRC, the guy was temporarily blinded and had to go to the clinic for treatment. I never heard anything about it after that. I don’t remember getting any technical ROE restriction training on IR lasers, and had been using PAQ-4Cs and the PEQ-2A for years. PAQ-4Cs were standard on our blasters even before the KAC Rails or the M4. We had this crazy bracket that clamped onto the FSB, with a reverse gooseneck that went back over the M16A2 handguards. The PAQ-4C screwed into that with its “extra super-duper strong thumb screw” that never broke (sarc).
SAW gunners had this mongosso steel box-shaped bracket that mounted to the top of the feed tray cover, held by the cover pivot pin with a STANAG rail on top of it for the PVS-4. There was an adaptor for the PAQ-4C to attach to that monstrosity and they had to install their PAQ-4s before EENT (dusk) every time we were in the field, then remove it at BMNT (dawn).
The PEQ-2A was a big step up in capability and durability over the PAQ-4C, but was much larger of course and a bit unwieldy. The illumination and IR laser combo was cool after years of being used to PAQ-4C.

For those of you using offset targets to confirm or set parallel zeros, make sure you don’t laminate the zeroing targets. Reflectivity causes eye damage with the laser bore lights and IR LAMs.
I was tasked on running the new stations for EIB once we got bore light kits for each fire team, and an SME from the program warned us about this. I wouldn’t be surprised if multiple units since then have used laminated zero targets for their bore lights and LAMs.
