WSC matches are usually in the summer. There was an Oct 16th match this yr. The 600yd Wednesday practice sessions ended today and will start up again when daylight savings time returns. There will be a few weekend practice sessions from 200 to 600yds during the winter...snow or shine.

I've got to send out a bit of a call for help from the fellow Michigan shooters. Does anyone know of an FFL in the Lansing or Grand Rapids area that could do a rifle transfer for me? I'm having a hell of a time finding one around here.

Justin, I sent you and Rich G. a copy of the 2012 Michigan Composite shoot schedule. Perhaps one of you young smart guys can figure out how to post it on this site.

It seems I must be too old and dumb to figure out how to post it.

The new 1100 yard MTC range just north of Lake City is making progress and it sure looks like MTC should be able to make their scheduled innagural match of May 19.

When they have more match dates set we will try to add their schedule to the Composite shoot list.

I just recently got into shooting long range with my budget rig. I'm rather young and inexperienced.

Do you guys think I'd be able to take part in any competitions? I feel like I'd be out of place there, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

We've got a match this Saturday (if the rain holds off) at the Midland County Sportsman's Club. Come on up and see what's going on....

Brad Sauve's son Jake has been shooting with us for a few years. Thinkin he's 14 this year. There's a handful of kids that shoot the Junior program with the MRPA....

Damn, I have to work, I normally only have sundays off. I can get other days off, but I need to know 3 weeks in advance. I would have gone to that. Alright, I'm not sure if I'd be in the junior section, but I'll see when I go to one.

Can anyone PM me the dates and locations of the matches in MI this summer? Thanks!

Check out Boblor's post above and shoot him an email. He'll send you the composite schedule which contains a majority of the matches which will be held in Michigan this year.

Thanks for posting the shoot dates. I hope to make it to a few events this year. Won't be within the next month though. Just had a herniai surgery this past thursday and can not lift more than a gallon of milk for atleast 4-6 weeks. It will be difficult!

Saturday is the Marksmanship Training Center's fun steel plate match. This will be their first match. If you are not shooting some place else on Saturday consider going up there and ringing some steel and also shoot some handgun. I understand they have prizes and a bbq. Re entry matches too. Marksmanship Training Center does have a website with more info.

MTC is 8.6 miles north of the intersection of M-42 and M-66 on the west side of M-66. This is between Lake City and Kalkaska.

Saturday is also a NRA eighty shot across the course match at Cadillac. After you shoot this,eat up Cadillac's ice cream then drive up to MTC, about 35 minutes away and see if you can mooch some bbq and look the range over. A 1000 yd range in the Lower Peninsula is a nice deal.

There is also a across the course match and LEG match at the Blue Water Spts. Club in the Thumb area. I know there are other matches this weekend too, so no reason you cannot find a shooting match someplace in Michigan this weekend.

Bob, do you have an extra copy of that schedule? The wife and I would like to hit a couple of matches this year. She will be looking for some help with her rifle shooting. I took her to a class here in MI and got nothing out of it for her, except that she really likes shooting her rifle now and wants to shoot more.

Yes Cadillac Spts Club in Cadillac MI. Sunday conventional and F class 3x600, 60 rounds for record, unlimited sighters
Squadding starts at 07:30 to 08:20 in the Club house.
Match starts at 0900 hrs. 4 relay system 40 competitors max.

Chili and ice cream after the match.

Final match of the season.

Saturday is a 80 shot across the course match
