Rifle Scopes Falcon 4.5-18x56 mushy turrets

Hey guys, my 4.5-18x56 Falcon has shitty turrets, which is normal from what I hear. I read somewhere that you can take off the turrets and wipe off the thick grease and reapply thinner grease to remedy this problem. So, I used the supplied allen wrench and took off the screw on the elevation turret. I tried pulling it off, which didn't work. I maxed out the elevation and tried to pull it off, which didn't work.

How the crap do I get the turret off? I was pulling fairly hard, but I don't want to break the damn thing!

you may just have to break the seal of the o ring and the actual turret, it may take a little force

Oh and one more thing I noticed. Even when I loosened/took off the screw, the turret still clicked when I turned it. WTF?

Well yes it would still turn. The turrets are still attached to the spline on the shaft, all removing the screw does is allow you to pull the turret off the shaft.

Even when removing the heavy grease the turrets on a Falcon will never really be crisp. What do you want for $400. S&B quality?

Not gonna happen. The Falcon's are very adequate for their price. No more no less...

So when I go to zero the scope, I have to pull the turret off to reset it to 0 instead of just loosening the screw and turning the knob back to 0?
