The chow halls I've been to so far have been well stocked and I found my old favorite of Javashock coffee. I can't tell if these ones are newer. So far I've had a triple latte and triple mocha.
I've also seen crazy new flavors for rip-its.
This MWR internet is the bee's knees.

Lived on Rip It energy drinks for those long missions, but if I remember right, we only had a few flavors to choose from back in '06-'07.

I couldn't drink the water that was supplied, and had to add powdered Gatorade to it.

I remember drinking the soda with the English on one side, and Arabic on the opposite side. It was made with real sugar, but was a little on the flat side for carbonation.

Mr Brown coffee, in the short cans. Or 'Mr coffee' as the locals called it. I loved that stuff since it didn't have a lot of milk in it, just coffee and sugar. Everybody else loved Tiger sodas but they were too sweet for me.

WTF.........did the army turn into a bunch of yupees.

It was C-Ration Coffee.........if we got close to a town or large village it was "33" Beer.

The yellow/orange Rip It was the best of the three flavors out there in A-stan '10. I would stock up on 5 hour energy whenever we pulled into a FOB with a PX. Nothing like a caffeine induced, semi-conscious, sleep-deprived mental state.

Next time anyone flies into Frankfurt go to Cafe Illy, and order up a Cafe Fondante. It's thick enough to hold up a spoon.

Lavazza inside there is also great too, but it's in a different terminal.

Gatoride/water after that. Us old guys sweat like a pig in Iraq

I suggest Skype for staying in touch back home. Its cheap but they f you for net access if you dont use MWR. FOBs/COBs I was on had such a long wate for MWR Comps a few of us sharred net to save a few bucks but Skype was like being home

Here something to think about, that was the best brass cleaner in the Navy. LOL! If you had a crusted over brass fire hose spud, you just dropped it into that crap for about 10 minutes. Viola clean as a whistle. Mojo was my favorite! That stuff hit you like hammer! But I digress.
