The republicans did nothing to stop them so they are just as bad , i bot worse because they lied and said they would ndo all tis sit, lied at every turn, my whole life, they are kying fukers too, they are part of the problem , no different than the dems. How do you like that insurance and doctor you were able to keep, all because the Repubs lied and did not follow through on one promise, trump has followed through on a few at least, the repubs not one. This has been mis-attributed to Charles Krauthammer (who I think is a great author/thinker). It was actually written by a guy named Bill Wilson and appeared online about a year ago on a site called The Daily Jot. I have no idea what its angle is. But the article was remarkably predictive.... of where things are now. And what seems to be driving these forces.
Simply put, Trump can't be allowed to succeed, in the minds of many. Which is why, the more 'they' resist, the stronger I think he gets with the rest of the nation.

If your hypothesis is correct and one corrupt group of exploiters will be simply be replaced with another... then this totally negates my faith in the idea that a Constitutional Republic with a citizen legislature... can last and thrive. If we are simply destined to be ruled by a series of professional politicians, self-appointed Washington Royalists and, well, Oligarchs... then what are we really all about?
The cynic in me says you are probably, sadly, somewhat right. But the All-American Optimist in me has to go with the argument that the elimination of the forces of socialism, communism, progressivism -- the enemies of our Constitution -- will let The Founders' vision to continue to create our Shining City on a Hill.

Having been surrounded by Mexicans since forever, around election time til ~mid April it was all the rage to be in sheer panic about deportations/prison/death at the hands of racist white people. Maybe the untowards are starting to realize it's not quite as bad as telemundo told them it was.
A nice metric omitted by everyone, though, is how many folks, after having violated our laws, got captured. I'd wager that if we could see real stats, maybe crossings are up, but so, too, are apprehensions.

Here are a couple more to brew in your cup: Conservatively at the current rate of technology, 1/2 or more of all jobs will be able to be satisfied by AI and robotics within the next 1 - 2 decades. Currently @ 50% of all Americans receive some form of subsidy. As AI and robotics are beginning to enter the workforce very little is said about the shift in the tax burden (largely because it is impacting the lowest tier of wage earners first). However as AI/Robo makes gains, this shift will foist a larger and larger proportion of responsibility onto a shrinking workforce. Couple this with the classic progressive position of overpopulation is outstripping the resources.
I have always been amused by those who do not believe there really are people sitting in a back room deciding the fate of others, or that the corruption of an organization requires that each member thereto be in on the scheme. Those same people seem bewildered by the idea that there may be a small group of people that would like to wipe out the entire future lineage of 1/2 or more of population of world. At 45, you don't have the experiences some of us 60-70 year olds have had so you believe you have more freedom. you see what your time on earth has allowed you to see through the lense of the propaganda machine.
You don't know what a few of us know or the freedoms we have lost. You haven't seen capital gains taxes rise and steal our long term investments, or inheritance taxes go up and steal our family farms, or environmentalists pass laws that prevent us from land use of our on property, or government taking our free use of public properties.
You don't remember doctors making house calls until regulations shut that down, you haven't seen other free enterprises regulated out of business, you haven't seen curb market selling of home grown products criminalized, or maybe you dont recognize it.
You weren't here in 68 when we lost certain weapons systems and you don't recognize what we lost in 86. Before 86, we had the freedom to create systems and civilians like John Browning created better things than the government. No offense intended, you speak from ignorance.

They turned some really backslidden military units of American citizens back into proud productive military units. History shows it time and time again, give Americans the right leadership and Americans rise up and win.
Those mil units and those fbi agents and the country are all American citizens whose most pressing need is leadership, not dismantling. 2016 was a start there. Let's fire the deadweight, give them leaders, and turn them back into productive Americans.
