Not having shot much at long ranges, I don't really know the benefits of different scope features. Below is my beginner attempt at understanding what it costs to get certain benefits and the associated feature that provides it. I tried to provide an example of what might represent that feature/price decently too. What benefits are the most necessary for learning and growing as a long range shooter?

Match PoA and PoI: Reliable tracking turrets = $400 (SWFA SS Fixed)
Faster target acquisition: variable magnification/FOV = $700 (SWFA SS Variable)
Adapt to harder scenarios: illumination, zero stop, larger tube = $1200 (Burris XTR)
See targets better, reduce headaches: high density glass = $2000 (Vortex Razor)
