Does Federal make crimped .223 loads? I was decapping some brass and found several that appear to be crimped. No idea where they could have come from. Case head reads: FC 11 223 Rem".
Have several cases of american eagle 55gr that are crimped. I think it was when they were pumping out ammo as fast as they could because of the war. They were running all their machines all the time boxing and shipping all crimped.
Get the RCBS swager tool it works great to remove the crimp...
I've got a tool, but I don't have but a dozen or so crimped cases. Probably not worth fooling with. As I mentioned above, I have no idea where these came from. Thanks for reassuring me that I'm not crazy, at least not totally...
I loathe crimped primers. Makes me want a Dillon 1050, to handle them automatically. I have the RCBS tool, and it works well, but it's a huge hassle to do hundreds (or more!) of them.
