my quest for a lightweight, do-everything 308 finally came together, with the last bit arriving this afternoon.

I started this build more than 6 years ago when my youngest daughter was born and it has changed directions so many times it's crazy. The introduction and availibility of some really nice 1-8 FFP scopes is what helped me turn the corner.

It's just about fully ambi
weight of under 10 pounds - 9.25 with optic & mount on my kitchen scale.
I'm really curious to find out how effective the hybrid break/hider is...
the only thing I'm missing is a decent light.

2A upper & lower
Geissele trigger (can't remember if it's a SSA or SSA-E)
JL Billet handguard
Ranier Ultramatch 16"
EFAB Hybrind muzzle break
VLTOR extension/emod/buffer
Troy ambi mag releases
seekins ambi safety & bolt release
Geissele 0moa rail & Nightforce NX8
(I can't remember where the LPK was sourced, or the gas block/tube, probably Brownells or Ranier)
Ergo grip

9.25 pounds with optics, accuracy & reliability TBD (fingers crossed).
other then a middle of the road barrel the rest of the parts should equate to a nice shooting rifle.

when some of the snow melts and/or it's not -10. I'm in MN and I don't recall a winter this harsh, at least not for this sustained period of time. I could go to the indoor range, but they top out @ 50m which wouldn't be more than a function check and a waste of 308. soon, the snow will melt soon...

That sucks. Going to be in 60's and 70's down here in the south. Will probably shoot a couple times next week.
