Rifle Scopes Finally ordered a base & rings!!

Well, I have had my brand new Savage .308 and new Vortex Viper PST ffp sitting in my gun safe for over a month now. I finally got around to ordering a base for my rifle from Mike at CST. I went with the Badger 306-06SAT Sat S/A 20 MOA cant. Been so busy with work I have not had time to touch it. I also ordered a set of Badger 0.885 medium rings from Midway. I can't wait to get this thing up and running. I appreciate all of the help I have received from several of the members on this site. Thanks again guys

Not that there is anything wrong with the Leupold rings, but why did you decide to go with those as opposed to just staying with the Badger?

You're right, I went ahead and ordered the Badger Medium 0.885 30mm rings through Midway just now. They look like good rings and they have positive reviews from what I have read. Thanks for the input!

Badger doesn't make bad stuff. You can't go wrong with them.
All my guns that have rings, have badgers.

I ended up finding a Caldwell brand 6"-9" adjustable swivel bi-pod for approximately 45% less than the Harris model. I did some investigating and found some positive feedback regarding the Caldwell brand bi-pods so I went ahead and ordered one. I hope it ends up working for me?

As much as you are shooting right now the Caldwell will do fine.

One its actually a rifle that gets shot get a good bipod.

I tried the Caldwell at first for the same reasons. It did not take long to see why it was $15. I ended up giving it to a buddy and bought me a Harris.

The Caldwell I got was $64, compared to the $106 Harris. I can't justify spending that much on a bi-pod right now. I have a friend who has a Caldwell and he said it works well for him! I have read negative feedback from people about Harris and I've seen negative feedback about Atlas. I thinks it boils down to personal preference in the end?

I'm not saying Badgers are junk or that they are great, but I don't see them as any better than Leupold or NF rings.

Hmm, maybe the one I had was not a Caldwell then, as it was a cheapy. When you said 75% less I thought you actually meant 75% not 40%.

I have 6 Harris bipods and have never had a lick of trouble with any of them.

Thanks for the link, If I end up being disappointed with the Caldwell, I will look in the Harris direction!
