Well I had it down to two guns until I saw this one today at the store. So far this has been my favorite full size 1911 that a store has had without having to order one. It is a Dan Wesson Specialist, the frame to slide fit is tight and smooth, it has a very good trigger pull on it, and it also has all of the features that I wanted for this particular gun.

And here it is next to the rest of the collection of 1911's for now.

Great choice! In my opinion the specialist is one of the best semi-custom guns on the market. dan wessons' bridge the gap between mass produced guns and full blown custom guns. (I envy your finish, when I got mine only stainless was available).

Awesome ... Dan Wessons are fantastic values. I have several and they have all been great shooters. Congrats on the purchase ... you done good!

Well I finally got a chance to shoot it, and it is a dream. Runs smooth and feeds great from my Wilson mags. Not sure what kind of mags they come with so I just went a head and used the wilsons. There is a huge difference between this full size and my four inch kimber and I like the DW a lot better. It defiantly won't be the last.

That is a great 1911 I have a dan wesson 357 mag and have had it for years they make great guns. I have never owned one of the 1911's but if it's half as good as it looks your going to have alot of range time with it.
