well as alot of you have been following my build, and to be honest i havent really been making alot of progress, sure the gun looks cool their is nooooo dout in that.
how ever cool guns and guns that get the job done are two diffrent things, after having to repress my barrel out and rehead space, then with my scope mounting issue I finnaly had a chance to hit the range today.
on with the range report, I took some surplus ammo with me just to "dial" the scope in with, to be honest i only shot about a at best 1.5 inch group, the recoil was much better with the new headspace, but i still got a flyer here and their well more offten then not.
I sand bagged the rifle vary vary well and i just assumed the 1.5 inche group was the best that ammo was able to shoot. it was getting late and i was helping my brother sight in his rifle as well, it was about 5-10 mph wind and rain vary gloomy
i bore brushed and cleaned my rifle in preperation for the first load of "match" ammo target #5 was first up 110 sierra hp's 46.8 gr of blc2.. now I know every one is asking why iam messing with such a light grain, well its mainly for varmints, and crow's lol yes crow's I am hopeing to get a good subsonic 110 gr load some time for ratcoons at night.
next is a first for me 180 combined technology bst this group i rushed, it was also getting dark and i did take a few guess shots cause of the fadeing light. i will retry this load again next time i go shoot
i didnt wanna do it cause i was getting cold but i though what the hell i wanna try the 155 smk's never shot them befor, but at 45.2 grain of blc-2 and a steady hand and taking my time i shot the best group i have shot with this rifle... and it could have been tighter if it wasnt so dark and the cold wasnt nipping at me
the weather has been nice here and if it continues ill get to test all the other 155's 168's and 190's and really see where the sweet spots are, but for now the 155's are looking good
thanks every one for the help and the tips and advice and even for telling me iam wasting my time... its all starting to come togeather now
