First range day with new tikka tac a1

Can’t upload pictures due to size? But did a “barrel break in” today and first five shot group can be covered by a penny. First time trying the long range thing, since getting out of the Corps in 2003. Will gladly email or text someone the pics if you want to load for me.
Not trying to start a break in debate as I don’t know either way, just know the worst thing I could do is waste time and Hoppes #9......

Have never done a barrel break in or owned a precision rifle. After round 25, my point of impact was .5 low and .5 left(in) I readjusted and fired 25 more rounds with pin point accuracy (to include a baseball size pumpkin for giggles) Not sure if scope or just normal shift? I’m using a mark 4 cantilever with a leupold 8x25x50 tactical scope.

Shoot one clean X5. Shoot 5 clean X5. Again no clue if it was needed but what’s an extra couple hours at the range!!

Bought a few boxes of Hornady American Gunner 140g for some cheap stuff to sight in and break in. All I can say is I’m more than impressed for less that a dollar a round!!

Grab some Hornady Match or ELD-X and see what it can really do!

I am super happy with my Tac A1 in 308. Sighted it in at 100y, took it to PA and was hitting the 1,000 steel second time out with it. Can't beat it!

I went with the Pineapple one from Mountain Tactical. Feels good in the hand, lots of surface to grab onto.

Here is mine on break in day (which i did nothing to break it in because i was too impatient to wait for the bore guide to come in) Just a quick patch of Fireclean and shot it... I shot 3.. 5 round groups
First was Hornaday 140 ELD than Prime 130 and 5 rounds of Hornaday ELD 147

The prime is pictured here was the best group.. Tac A1 6.5
100 yards cold and windy last weekend.. Cant wait to get her out to 1000 yds

Took it to 200 today. 7 clicks not 15 like my app told me!! That’s a four shot group I can live with!
