I've been reading a bit on the importance of fitting the stock to the shooter and certainly this is a very important element which contributes to improve stability, comfort and establishing a natural point of aim.

one well known source mentioned maintaining the recoil pad below the clavicle.

If i do so, then i must raise the rifle scope well above the axis of the barrel to reestablish a natural sight line....this however seems in contradistinction to trying to keep the scope as low as possible.

wondering what others have found. thank you

Keeping the scope as low as possible is a hunting thing

They holdover using a PBR zero and want to just wing it, so the lower the scope is, the flatter they aim.

We don't have to worry about that anymore

All the software needs is the sight height, if the stock allows you to get inline behind the optic, there is no issue

I've lost count of how many times I have had to explain this to people recently.

Thank you all so very much...I really appreciate it.
Trying to do the right thing and learn from other's experience.
These answers likely saved me a lot of money, time and grief.
