Rifle Scopes Fixed power magnification for rimfire trainer

On a rimfire trainer being used mostly at 50-200yds, with occasional 200-300yds use, would you prefer a fixed 6x or 10x?

At what distance could you get small groups with a 6x?

Of the two, 10x.

It's just harder to center up a bull at 6x so it's not a good choice for precision on small targets. It's not easy on 10X for that matter.

I use variable scopes that go up to 20x or 24x.

I shoot IR50/50 and ARA Benchrest the normal scope power is 36x 40x 45X only sportier class is 6x hope this helps.

I use a 10x SS on my CZ455 Trainer....I've never felt like I didn't have enough power. Love this scope for this application.

What rings did you use? Seems like despite the 42mm objective, you'd still need fairly tall rings to clear the bolt handle.

I have a couple of other variables....I have a oversize bolt knob on the gun, which means I needed taller rings. I used a set of NF Med. rings I had laying around, and they work fine.

I have a SS 10x mil/mil that's been on my savage mk II the past couple years. No complaints.
