I always have them. In almost every 5 round group I have one round that is not "in the group" and I can actually feel them/call them when it happens. I'll put 2 rounds that touch /overlap...fire a third that is 1/2" or so somewhere else (never the same) and then fire 2 more that are so close to the first two that the four rounds make a 1/2" group and the fifth round makes it a 1" group. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 20% of my rounds don't go where the other 80% went and it's my fault. I can tell the moment the shot breaks it's not going where I wanted it.

More time behind the gun? More maturity as a marksman? Some exercises that might help?

    Thanks in Advance!

    Could be several things.

Try taking a break in between shots

Relax. You may be putting a lot of pressure on yourself to make the group.

Keep working your fundamentals and your mental checklist before breaking the shot.

Also check you equipment. I had a rifle once that did this exact thing. Got a new rifle and the problem stopped. Never could figure that one out.

The majority of the time when I do that it is me not loading the bipod the same way every time.
I got so used to shooting mainly 308win that it has been a process for me to stop loading the bipod so much when I transitioned to 6.5x47 and 65Cm.

For me I would also say check your zoom I would get so locked in at seeing my first few shots that I would always mess up the third fourth or fifth. My best 5 shot group was on paper where I couldn't see the shots until I walked up to the Target.

I dislike the thought that 90% of all my problems are me but it is and they are . Regardless of what rifle I shoot it's still me . Every pulled shot , every time I say to my self not to take the shot and shoot anyway and I get a flyer Its me again . Strong wind , gusts . snow rain what ever Its all on my errors . I am my own greatest source of misery and joy while shooting .

Put a fired case in the chamber, now go shoot a group without recoil.
Are you on the same point of aim when the firing pin drops every time?

Great idea. I'll try backing magnification out. I do a lot of dry fire and I'm always on the spot when the pin drops. I think I'm rushing in live fire and not settling in on the fliers.
