Florida

i just read this...this is why we cant have nice things. Apparently the Army is there. I hate the media.

Dozens of law enforcement vehicles are on site, including one tank, along with a team of heavily armed law enforcement officers

Is the tank really necessary?
the local LEO never pass up an opportunity to pull out the toys at tax payer expense.

i remember a few years ago a local cop crashed his cruiser, shot into it a few times and lit it on fire ....right outside my house....he lied and called it in that he was shot at by an unknown suspect causing him to crash and his car burst into flames.....

i come home to see a fucking tank sitting in my driveway....like, i understand a cop being shot at is serious.......but what the fuck are you going to do with a tank......and why is it parked in my driveway?

Another retard has managed to go out in a blaze of glory. Hope they are still using the electric chair in FL... Because that's way more painful than lethal injection.

When are people going to realize than when you have a retard who everyone says "He is going to go off like a cheap gremade..." you notify someone...

Well, guess it's par for the course.

In Disgust,

Was it a for real tank, or something like an APC? I didn't see it, so I am legitimately asking.
In fairness to the LE on the scene, if they get reports of an active shooting incident with 50 people shot/injured I imagine they will do their best to "prepare for the worst" to be on the safe side and, let's face it, a strong show of force to help relay the thought to people that they are taking control.

I'm not saying that was the right call, but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

1) start putting armed guards/ resource officers in schools......there is literally 0 reason not to.

2) stop raising kids with an ipad.....these kids have no concept of reality, and dont know how to function in real life.......more importantly, they dont have the social tools necessary to cope with shit.

3) start holding the parents accountable....legally....your little jimmy doesnt just wake up one day and decide to shoot up a school.....there are warning signs, and because your dumb ass would have noticed them if you actually raised your kids.

4) stop glorifying shooters......stop plastering them all over TV.....stop listing the "body count".......nutbags see this and want that fame and the "record"

5) lock up your fucking weapons if you have kids in the house.....period.

Not far from me. I would rather see a over reaction than an under reaction by the police.

They got they shooter now looking for bombs due to his social media having Bomb making contacts. According to the News. So we’ll see.

The limited news outlets that had published stories stated "tank" - very fair question, video shows an APC. I forgot "heavily armed with assault weapons of war" can mean samurai sword, and "tank" can mean an apc if it stirs more attention.

And here comes Shepherd Smith and a lefty Democrat Senator saying that this is the NRA and Republicans fault....

Because the little retard who pulled the trigger, his parents and the people who didn't report him... have no responsibility.

Yup... blame the "High Caliber Weapon." Idiots.

Sirhr

And the burning questions... was the shooter white male and what weapon did he use? Just trying to forecast how much the left will try to play the shooting to their advantage and whether I care to stay updated.

In an active shooter situation there are a couple of great reasons to bring an armored vehicle if you've got access to one:

Can safely approach the school in order to make entry, bringing your own "cover" with you

Can use it to shield people running out of the building and use it to evac them, either in it or behind it

Can be used to shield EMS and provide CasEvac if necessary

Nothing short of an APC is going to do those jobs well, civilian vehicles don't do a good job of stopping bullets. It doesn't help anyone to have a bunch of responding officers and medics get killed by rifle fire because the use of an APC is seen as offensive.

This looks to be a large school with multiple buildings who knows where the SRO's were also are they armed ? In nyc no weapons they get beat up everyday in nyc school system here in the catskills our kids would get their ass beat to a pulp when they got home. Little ones being murdered for what ..... sick fuck watching this make me sick .

We have 2 Armored vehicles up here in Delaware County NY bought for 1$ dollar each from the feds could take 45 minutes to get a swat team assembled for an entry by that time it's all over.

The verbiage being used in available media is "tank", not APC, not armored personnel carrier, "tank".

Okay, so let's for a second pretend that we don't know better, and a PD actually has a full on main battle tank. If that's the only armored vehicle they have then it's still more useful than anything unarmored.

If y'all know of a PD with a fucking Abrams or even rocking an old M60, with functioning main gun, then I wanna go visit that place.

A teacher at the school told the Miami Herald that Cruz, 19, had been identified as a potential threat to fellow students in the past.

“We were told last year that he wasn’t allowed on campus with a backpack on him,” said math teacher Jim Gard, who said the former student suspected in the shootings had been in his class last year. “There were problems with him last year threatening students, and I guess he was asked to leave campus."

Gard says he believes the school administration had sent out an email warning teachers that the student had made threats against other in the past and that he should not be allowed on the campus with a backpack. Another student interviewed on the scene by Channel 7 said the student had guns at home.

So.......entirely preventable?

Several agencies use whats called a Bear Cat made by a company called Linko if my memory serves me right.

An agency in my area has a MRAP with full armor. No main gun weapons and is only in use for the armor protection on events like this or severe situations of high risk warrants that have gone wrong or are expected to go weong.

Damn I wish Shephard Smith would shut his cock-gobbling pie-hole...

He has made a career out of grand-standing during school shootings... all the while bemoaning school shootings. If Shephard Smith would stop turning these events into "look at me" moments... maybe a few of these retards wouldn't want to go out in a blaze of Shephard Smith commentary glory...

Tired of this sh**

It's pretty disgusting what that guy does. When he tries to feign sympathy it just irritates the hell out of me.

I agree with what everyone is saying but I saw something on Facebook and I thought it was a relatively cheap but effective idea. Why don’t school start putting slides on each higher story classroom window? I feel like it would get students out of schools much quicker. One may say “well whats stopping the shooter from climbing up the slide and shooting up the second floor?” You could make them deployable only, like in air planes. Might be a quirky idea but it seems like it could work. Sadly we should just be putting a guard with an AR15 at each school but I’m sure the parents wouldn’t want their snowflakes around big bad black guns.

I said this after Newtown:

Why don’t schools have hardened entry vestibules? One set of entry doors (to get late students or visitors out of the rain, etc.), a 10-15’ deep vestibule, and then a set of hardened entry doors that someone must be buzzed in by a faculty member or guard. The hardened doors are immediately locked from entry (not exit in case of a fire or other emergency) at the start of school. The person(s) in the vestibule can then be visibly inspected and spoken to (via a speaker) before allowed entry.

This would not be hard to accomplish to existing schools, nor would it be outrageously expensive. You can bet that wealthy people in the cities wouldn’t mind ponying up the cash, or at least a large portion of it, if it avoids situations like this.

Will such a measure solve all active shooter situations? Of course not, but it would surely make it more difficult for them to get inside the structure where they essentially have a shooting gallery.

Because people would rather ban the gun....fucking fools

because the reality is.......the Democrats dont actually want to stop school shootings.....because they get off on this shit.

you see how fucking happy they are when they get a platform and attention from espousing how bad guns are.....my god, they look like they need to change their pants afterwards.

they have proven time and time again they dont actually care about saving lives.....and they froth at the mouth at any chance they can to do away with the 2A, finally get the control they desire...

we are pawns to them, disposable pawns.

They've got something like that on the middle school down here. After like 8:30AM it's buzz-in only. Feels a bit prisony.

Parents picking up kids also have to have an authorization form or some such to pick up a kid. Like, even if you're the parent, and everyone knows you're the parent, if you don't have the form, you can't pick up your kid. To make matters worse, all the cars are funneled into one lane that's processed one at a time.

Fuckin' lame...
