They have something very similar to where both of my children attend school. You have to be buzzed in. To be honest, I couldn’t care less. If it stops/deters unauthorized entry into a massive structure full of hundreds of soft targets, much less innocent children, what’s the big deal? You might be the nicest, most honest and law abiding person in the world. The “buzzed in” doors aren’t for you. They are for your children and the nutbags who make seek to harm them. I would think that waiting an extra 30 seconds to walk into your kids school during hours is an easy concession to make.
The car line thing is just like that at my kids schools too. “Emergencies” have come up where I had to pick my kids up instead of my wife. I might not have the proper window “hanger” (because it is in my wife’s vehicle), but they have been understanding and allow my son to leave with me. Perhaps the school your kids attend is taking things a bit far with the letter of the law, especially if you are very well known with the faculty. Their hearts may be in the right place, even if their heads aren’t.
I get where you're coming from, that's pretty much my wife's view, as well.
I don't dislike the situation because it's inconvenient. I dislike it because it eats away at the fabric of mankind. I don't pretend to know the answers to all the questions, like what would you do to make sure someone doesn't come in and go all Nick Cruz on the students. I mean, one suggestion I think would be OK would be to have all the staff armed, but then you gotta consider the staff... On average, they're fucking degenerates communist fucking agitators. I don't trust those motherfuckers with anything.
But then, on the other hand, what does a situation like that do to the kids? A non-trivial percentage of the kids that go to that school aspire to be prisoners or gang members. Like, literally, you ask some of these fucktards what they want to do when they grow up, and they'll say they want to be on death row. How much of this bullshit has to do with the fact that these kids are waking up, getting yelled at by their retard parents, dropped off in a retarded chaotic shit line of vehicles driven by other retard parents, they go in the doors, go through metal detectors, then get hearded around the campus and go and sit and listen to some man/woman that looks at the students as their own damned kids and probably thinks marxism is a good idea for 8 hours, then wait for 1-2 hours for their retard parents to finagle their way through the fucked up chaotic shit line up to the point where they're checked out and then the kids get to go home and play CoD for the rest of the night?
I know what I wrote above was not eloquent or particularly easy to follow, but I assure you the point I am getting at is that the whole situation is fucked. Left unattended, I think it's just gonna get worse. I don't know that a band-aid is a viable option.
I think shit parenting is a big part of it.
I think medications are a big part of it.
I think the structure is a big part of it.
I think curriculum is a big part of it.
I think staff is a big part of it.
I think the general 'modern' idea of education is a big part of it.
I also think all these things are symptomatic of the real cock suck of an issue we're looking at unfolding now. Fucking commies are fucking up our country at every level. They're fucking up the local, state, and federal governments. They're fucking up all the educational institutions. They're fucking up our parents, our kids, our friends with their bullshit propaganda they spew (24/7/365)*a big number of media outlets like every fucking news station, netflix, hulu, youtube, amazon, et al. They're fucking up things in a more physical, more permanent way with fucked up medications that they have to spend most of a commercial warning you about all the side effects like depression, suicidal tendencies, and maybe you'll shit yourself uncontrollably until you die, so talk to your fucking physician plzkthxbai, now you can't sue me because you were warned. They're fucking up the way people live their lives and endeavor upon the pursuit of happiness by using the preceding failures as excuses to strip away freedom and liberty.
If it weren't for a tiny percentage of kids that are both fairly intelligent AND don't speak too negatively about the whole situation, I would say that the grand idea of institutionalized education is completely dead and should be regarded as non-existent, not an option, not even a remote possibility with things in the state they are in.
Throwing up some big bullet proof doors that don't open for anyone without a good reason to be there mitigates some threats, sure. But is that really the best way to nip Nick Cruz in the bud?
Could we have fucked up the Japanese by fortifying pearl harbor after they bombed it, and calling that good enough?
"Oh, I see what went wrong, there.. We needed some more AAA and some more recon. That'll prevent this from ever happening again..."
