I just watched this video and could not believe the complication in this thing. Field serviceable, I think not.

Re: FNAR - My head hurts now

That seems amazingly complex for a semi-auto, kind of like the trigger group for the HK SL8, a bit too over engineered for its own good.

How does it compare to the SCAR for take down?

The only FN design I own is an FAL clone, much simpler to take down.

The scar is much easier than the fnar appears in that vid. Just push one pin and then all the parts just slide apart. The bolt carrier groups slides out the rear like an ar, no tools are needed for the scar.

Re: FNAR - My head hurts now

The big difference is that the FNAR is based off of the Browning BAR hunting rifle. The FN-FAL and the SCAR, are designed from the ground up as military battle rifles.

Re: FNAR - My head hurts now

It looks a little more intimidating than it really is. I'll admit an ar is WAY easier to break down but the FN is not that bad.
Again, I am a hobbyist, I do not work with my rifles and I would not want to field dress this rifle in a pinch!
But I sure do like shooting it!
