For people who know about pool talbes.. good deal?

Re: For people who know about pool talbes.. good deal?

Take a pass - its a Sportcraft/Sams Club knockoff. Keep prowling Craigslist/EBay for a decent Gold Crown Brunswick...it does not have to be some super fancy model...but two things are going for you.
Brunswick makes a quality product even on the low end...and resale value stays steady. Don't get caught up on leather and carved legs...you want a SOLID SURFACE - Slate! You want good rails...with adjustment. Nothing worse than owning a table that can only be squared up at the factory...once you get it home or take it apart your screwed getting it square again.

My current Gold Crown was a Craigslist find from an estate sale....it looks like something from a movie and is truly awe inspiring. Buy once cry once..

I don't know much about pool tables..... But!

For anyone who uses Craigslist to look for particular items, there is something that might make your searches a whole lot easier.

It is a 'thing' called Yahoo 'Pipes' (click here to visit).

It's a web site apparently designed by some web gurus who build these tools to peruse websites like CraigsList. You can look at other peoples Pipes they have built to see how it's done, and actually copy them and modify them for your own use.

They can save you a bunch of time if you're looking for cars, guns, pool tables, and especially if you want to search a few CraigList sites.

They are not for everyone, some get really excited about them, some don't like them at all. I like them.

As always, YMMV.

Cheers~

yea I found an Olhausen for the same price in way better condition. I called a used pool table store and the owner said he strongly recommends the olhausen over the other one. So for the same price why not.

+1 for the Gold Crown. Brunswick built a load of these for the "family billiard centers" in the 60's. They are tanks and built to last forever.
