The .458 Lott is a brute of a cartridge. Making around 4800 ft/lbs with a 300gr bullet.. and around 5800 ft/lbs with a stiff 450gr load.
FWIW...I have fired a 500gr Hornady FMJ through 39" of solid pine.
And making in run in a "AR" platform is impressive.
